Student answer (Band 6.0)
Education institiutions should implement a rule that allows undergraduates to either study abroad or complete internship from industries for a certain period of time. Advantages of such regulations include global exposure and learn directly from experts of their field, whereas disadvantages are requirement of passport and visa for foreign countries and difficulty to handle more students at a time. However, benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
The drawback for studing abroad is to have an official passport issued by the government and visa process to go abroad. In India, more than 70% of students do not have passport and many parents cannot afford to spend money on visa processing because of low income. Another drawback is, their are more number of undergraduates but very less amount companies to train them. If their are more students than companies, they cannot provide one-on-one guidance to them.
Short courses in foreign countries can provide global exposure to students. In pakistan, an increasing number of students go to abroad for one semester to experience different culture. This helps them to understand culture other than their native country and provide better career opportunities. Summer internships benefit the learners to work directly under expertise. In India, education system facilitates students with only theoritical knowlegde, whereas practical knowlegde is different. Gaining practical experiences can help them to be ready for job markets. Therefore, advantages are greater than disadvantages.
In conclusion, All university bachelor courses must include a period of time that should be spent on studying in foreign countries or doing an internship. Advantages are more compare to disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the question and state a clear position: “benefits outweigh the drawbacks.” The response gives relevant reasons, including access to international cultures and practical workplace experience, alongside costs associated with passports and visas and limited placement capacity. These points support your view, and the examples from India and Pakistan make the discussion more specific. The argument also shows some development beyond a simple list, particularly when you explain how practical experience can prepare students for employment. However, some claims are broad or not fully explained—for example, the figures about passport ownership and the shortage of companies are not connected to how universities might address these barriers. To strengthen the response, develop each main reason with clearer explanation and show why the benefits apply broadly enough to outweigh the access and capacity concerns.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on disadvantages, a paragraph on advantages, and a conclusion. The order of ideas is easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Another drawback,” “whereas,” and “Therefore” help signal relationships. Your position is also repeated consistently. However, some connections are mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs could be clearer. For instance, the opening lists several points before the body develops them, while the conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the comparison together. References such as “their” in “If their are more students” also make the sentence harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the claim it supports; vary linking language rather than relying mainly on simple signposts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for education and employment, including “global exposure,” “one-on-one guidance,” “practical experiences,” and “career opportunities.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some phrases show an attempt to use more specific language. However, noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision, such as “institiutions,” “studing,” “theoritical knowlegde,” and “under expertise.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, including “more number of undergraduates,” “go to abroad,” and “companies to train them.” Aim to learn vocabulary in accurate phrases—for example, “a larger number of students” and “work under experienced professionals”—and proofread spelling. More precise wording would make your argument sound clearer and more academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause in “whereas practical knowledge is different” and a conditional structure beginning “If there are more students.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, and the essay includes some sentence variety. However, some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships less clear. Examples include “complete internship” (missing an article), “their are” (incorrect subject form), “students go to abroad” (unnecessary preposition), and “advantages are more compare to disadvantages” (incorrect comparative construction). There are also agreement and verb-form problems, as in “This helps them … and provide.” Review articles, subject–verb agreement, and comparative forms, then check each sentence for a complete and consistent grammatical structure. Greater accuracy across your complex sentences would improve control.
