Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes it is good to include a short period in which the professor would tell about the graduation and doing graduation abroad or should tell about doing a work after their bachelors. I strongly agree with this because education can improve a person capabilities of doing more and gain much more information about their field as far as about work, it gives a person a hand on experience.

Yes, there are several advantages of giving some time to the students about studying abroad and about work. Firstly, the students gets alot of knowledge and positive aspects of doing higher studies in a different country. Studying masters and in other country is very much better because everyone is working on latest and different kind of technologies so its better to learn more and more. Telling about study abroad to undergraduate students is better because it helps student to do preperation on time when they want to apply. And about work placement its better to tell students in every university, moreover it should be in a separate period, because working after bachelors make a person independent and its good for the uprisng persons to make independent as soon as possible.

There are some disadvantages as well of including an extra period of studying abroad and work placement. The first thing is the university has to shorten the other lectures which a;l=sre more important in the university. Secondly, the student focus will dsitract and they start thinking about going abroad or taking tension of their future too early as they listen about work.

In conclusion, although their are disadvantages of inluding a period of time spent studying abroad or doing work placement but their are much more advantages as well and i believe that the advanatages of this would outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the question by presenting advantages and disadvantages and stating that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Relevant points include gaining knowledge about overseas study and gaining work experience, while the disadvantages concern reduced lecture time and students worrying about their future. However, the response only partly develops the task: it sometimes discusses informing students about these options rather than requiring every undergraduate to complete a placement or study period. The benefits are asserted rather than supported with a specific example, and the disadvantage about students becoming distracted is not clearly explained. To strengthen the response, focus directly on the effects of making the experience compulsory and explain why those benefits outweigh the costs. The response meets the required length; nine words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the advantages paragraph moves between overseas study, preparation for applications, and independence without showing how these points connect to the proposed compulsory period. Repeated openings such as “Yes” and “There are” also make the organisation feel mechanical, and some references, including “it” in “it should be in a separate period,” are not fully clear. Group related ideas and use linking phrases to show cause and effect, rather than relying mainly on basic signposts.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to education and employment, including “higher studies,” “technologies,” “work placement,” and “independent.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning awkward, such as “a hand on experience” and “the uprisng persons.” Repetition of “better,” “students,” and “work” also restricts precision. Spelling errors such as “preperation,” “dsitract,” and “advanatages” are noticeable and can make the reader pause. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing compulsory placements and their outcomes, and check spelling carefully. For example, use “practical experience” instead of “a hand on experience” and “young adults” instead of “uprsing persons.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrast in the conclusion and a reason introduced by “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the argument difficult to follow. Examples include “the students gets,” “a person capabilities,” and “working after bachelors make a person independent.” The opening sentence is especially difficult to interpret because several ideas are joined without a clear grammatical structure. Some sentences also lack clear punctuation or use it inaccurately. Practise building one main idea per sentence, checking subject–verb agreement and possessives, and then adding subordinate clauses only when their relationship to the main point is clear.
