Student answer (Band 4.5)

THE IDEA OF UNDERGRUDUATE COURSES SHOULD INCLUDE A TIME PERIOD FOR SPENT STUDYING ABROAD OR DOING A WORK PLACEMENT IS VERY LOGICAL IDEA,ALTHOUGH MANY UNIVERSITIES ARE DOING THIS AND THIS IS VERY HELPFULL FOR STUDENTS IN THEIR UPCOMING JOBS.

THIS IDEA IS VERY USEFULL FOR UNDERGRADUATE THAT THE LEARN THE SKILL OR EITHER DOING A WORK ACCORIDNG TO THEIR FIELD OR STUYDING ABROAD RESPECTIVELY.LIKE IF A STUDENTS ARE GO ABROAD THEY LEARN THEIR CULTURE,ENVIRONMENT AND GAIN CONFIDENCE IN THEIR SELF.BECUASE TODAY MARKET OF JOBS ARE VERY COMPETITIVE.THE JOBS OPPORTUNITY ARE VERY LESS BEACUE OF COMPETITION.SO STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE DEVELPED PRACTICAL SKILL TO ENSURE THEIR CAPABILITY AND MAKE PRESENCE IN THE JOBS MARKET.AND THE OTHER THING I WOULD ALSO WANT TO MENTION THAT HAND ON SKILL OR PRACTICAL SKILL IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR STUDENTS FOR GRABING THEIR JOBS.BEACUE IF YOU DONT HAVE PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NOT SECURE YOUR JOB EASILY THATS WHY PRACTICAL EXPERICE IS VERY IMPORTANT.FOR EXAMPLE IF THE COMPANY WANT TO HIRE ONE PERSON BUT THEY HAVE TWO CANDIDATE THEY SHOULD GO FOR WHO HAVE PRACTICAL EXPERICE ALTHOUGH IF ONE HAVE GOOD STRONG DEGREE ID DOESNT MATTER THE ONLY MATTER IS THAT SKILL.YOU CANT EASILY GRAB A JOB WITHOUT EXPERIENCE.

YES FOR ME THIS COULD DISADVANTAGES.BECAUSE IT IS MODERN WORLD YOU SHOULD GO WITH DIFFERENT MINDSET ITS NOT THE OLD THINKING THAT ONLY DEGREE WILL BENEFIT YOU.THERE IS ONLY ADVANTAGES OF THIS AND MANY BENEFITS.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify relevant benefits of placements and overseas study, especially gaining practical skills, confidence and a stronger position in a competitive job market. The example of an employer choosing between two candidates also supports your point. However, the response does not clearly answer whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages: the final paragraph says “this could disadvantages” and then claims there are “only advantages,” leaving your position contradictory. Disadvantages are not explained, and several points are repeated rather than developed. The response is also below the required 250 words: it contains 229 words, with 8 words copied from the prompt excluded from the count. State your position clearly and develop both sides before reaching a reasoned conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to move from the general idea to benefits and then to a concluding comment, and the example about hiring gives the discussion some progression. However, the response is presented as two large blocks, so the relationship between its ideas is difficult to follow. Many sentences are joined by repeated “and,” “because,” or “so,” while full stops and commas are often missing. The final paragraph also shifts abruptly from a possible disadvantage to the claim that there are “only advantages.” Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, benefits, disadvantages and conclusion, and connect each point with clear, accurate transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “practical skill,” “competitive,” “confidence,” and “job market,” which helps communicate the central topic. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with “practical skill” and “experience” repeated several times. Frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word forms—such as “undergrudute,” “usefull,” “experice,” and “develped”—make the writing harder to read. Some phrases are also unnatural, for example “make presence in the jobs market” and “grabing their jobs.” Build a more precise range for discussing education and employment, and check spelling and collocations carefully so your meaning is expressed more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to express reasons and examples, including a conditional sentence beginning “if the company want to hire one person,” but sentence structures are mostly simple or joined into long, poorly controlled strings. Errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries occur frequently: for example, “a students are go abroad,” “the jobs opportunity are,” and “if you dont have practical experience you will not secure your job easily.” These patterns sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check singular/plural agreement and punctuation. More accurate control of basic structures is needed before adding longer, complex sentences.
