All university undergraduate courses should include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is often said that univeristy bachelor courses should include the time of studying in a foreign country or doing an industrial internship. In my opinion, the advantages of this suggestion outweigh the disadvantages.
Firstly, the most important benefit is that the pupil will learn from teachers outside of their country. It will provide valuable insights to them about thinking of complex problems in a efficient way. They will learn about new equipments and technologies while working in more developed labs. Secondly, completing an internship will give them idea about the direction in which modern industry is going. For instance, i have completed my internship at Qadri group that provided me with real time excecution of the processes which i have only studied in theory. But the dilema is that not every student take this role and if this is included in their course, they definitely have to take it and make use of it.
Moreover, there are certain disadvantages with this opinion. Firstly, the scholars often feel home sickness when living alone in another country or doing internship in another city. This can be treated by granting them a few leaves during their intended period of stay so that they can visit their family once in a while. The other problem is that not every pupil can afford to move abroad and study or work there. A solution can be presented for this issue by introducing paid internshhips and studies during their course. This allow learners to focus only on their stgudies or work without thinking of the their financial conditions.
In conclsuion, including this suggestion into the univeristy undergraduate course will improve students way of solving problems and also give them information about the emerging industrial trends. This also presents some disadvantages which can be removed by implementing the provided solutions. Overall, the advantages are far more comapred to the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you believe the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. You address both study abroad and work placements, explain benefits such as learning from different teachers and gaining practical industry experience, and acknowledge homesickness and affordability. The Qadri Group example gives useful personal support, while the proposed leave and paid-placement solutions show you have considered the disadvantages. This meets the task well. Some claims, however, remain broad—for example, that students will learn in “more developed labs” or gain insight into “emerging industrial trends”—without explaining how these experiences benefit different students. Develop one or two points further with a specific consequence or example to make the support more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages and solutions, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the progression. The personal example also fits naturally within the benefits paragraph. However, the linking is somewhat mechanical, with several points introduced through the same formula, and the long benefits paragraph combines distinct ideas that could be separated or connected more explicitly. Some references are also unclear, such as “this suggestion” and “this role,” which require the reader to infer exactly what they refer to. Use more varied transitions and clearer references to strengthen the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “industrial internship,” “valuable insights,” “complex problems,” “emerging industrial trends” and “financial conditions.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and limit precision: “new equipments,” “real time excecution,” “dilema,” “internshhips” and “comapred” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “thinking of complex problems in a efficient way” and “the direction in which modern industry is going.” Aim to learn vocabulary in natural word partnerships and check spelling carefully. More precise phrasing would make your argument sound clearer and more academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including conditional structures (“if this is included in their course”) and a relative clause (“that provided me with…”). Most sentences communicate their meaning, and the response is organised into complete sentences. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement and verb forms: “in a efficient way,” “not every student take this role,” and “This allow learners” need correction. There are also awkward or faulty constructions, such as “give them idea” and “without thinking of the their financial conditions.” Review singular/plural agreement, article use and sentence patterns, then proofread for small errors. Greater consistency in these areas would improve accuracy while preserving your range of sentence forms.
