Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, exchange programs and job placements have become popular for career developments. Some people believe that it should be integrated at undegraduate level academics for every student, but the disadvantages outnumber the advantages. In this essay, I will discuss the two prominent disadvantages and their resultant consequences at government and personal level.
First of all, the exchange and placement initiatives are not as simple as considered. These required proper planning and coordination between universities and workplaces. Besides this, the first disadvantage is economical impracticality of this motive. It is not financially possible for governments to provide this facility to each student of every institute, this delibrately puts stress on economy sector. The second disadvantage is curriculum, work ethics and cultural mistmach. The undegrad students are not mature enough to adjust in a very new introduced environment. Every country has different set of studies framework, work ettiquates and traditional norms. Sometimes, the home sickness also plays a significant role. As a result, the performance and efficiency declines and it turned out to be concering situation rather than beneficiary.
The practical solutions include inter national exchange programs as the curiculums are decided nationally (between different city universites) where students can come to their homes on weekends and it will be economically sustainable. Moreover, it wil train youngs minds to work more effectively in intra cultural and traditional environment. The international exchange programs and placements could be offered on merit basis after proper caliber and psycological treatment.
In conclusion, the economy and cultrual norms are prominent disadvanatges.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You take a clear position that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages and give relevant reasons, particularly the cost to governments and the difficulty students may face adapting to unfamiliar academic, workplace and cultural settings. The response also attempts to address the proposal with alternatives, such as domestic placements and offering opportunities on merit. However, the task asks you to weigh advantages against disadvantages, and the advantages are not meaningfully explained; the proposed benefits of domestic exchanges appear only briefly and are not compared with the drawbacks. Some claims, such as students being “not mature enough,” also need explanation or an example. Develop both sides and show explicitly why the disadvantages are more significant to make the argument more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting disadvantages, a paragraph suggesting alternatives, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “First of all,” “Besides this,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The sentence beginning “The practical solutions include…” shifts from discussing disadvantages to solutions without clearly connecting those solutions to the earlier points, and the conclusion simply repeats two drawbacks rather than summarising the argument. Some linking is mechanical, while references such as “this motive” are not immediately clear. Group the comparison and solutions more deliberately, use clearer links between claims and consequences, and make the conclusion answer the outweigh question directly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “coordination,” “economically sustainable,” “curriculum,” and “performance and efficiency.” These choices show an effort to discuss education, employment and cultural adjustment beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear. Examples include “career developments,” “economical impracticality,” “economy sector,” and “cultural mistmach”; several spellings, such as “undegraduate,” “delibrately,” and “ettiquates,” also reduce precision. Some phrases, including “psychological treatment,” do not clearly express the intended idea in context. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully; precise vocabulary will make your reasoning easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “where students can come to their homes on weekends” and a result structure beginning “As a result.” Most of the main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “These required proper planning” has an unclear subject and verb form, while “It is not financially possible …, this deliberately puts stress…” joins two independent clauses incorrectly. There are also issues with agreement and sentence construction in “the performance and efficiency declines” and “it turned out to be concerning situation.” Work on complete sentence boundaries, subject–verb agreement, articles and consistent verb forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make the argument smoother while preserving your attempts at complex sentences.
