Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear overall view that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you address both sides by discussing language development and workplace experience alongside cost and cultural adjustment. The example of your university’s placement cell is relevant, but it is not explained in enough detail to show what students gain. The points about English and adapting to food and culture are also broad and would benefit from specific explanation. The response is 240 words, so it is 10 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to develop your reasons. To strengthen the response, explain how overseas study or placements benefit students’ future careers and support each main point with a more specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, and a paragraph on disadvantages. Linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “However” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is often disrupted by repeated or misplaced connectors and sentence fragments, for example, “Moreover, It Additionally” and “because. of their different culture and food habits.” Some ideas are also joined without clear relationships, making the argument harder to follow. Use one suitable connector at a time, organise each paragraph around a clear main point, and connect examples directly to the claim they support. This would make the overall progression clearer and reduce the impression of mechanical linking.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “language skills,” “practical knowledge,” “workplace,” and “economically weaker section.” These choices make your main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “a great oppurtunity in applying” and “experience the real life difficulties.” Spelling errors, including “Aditionally,” “oppurtunity,” and “dyfferent,” are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader. Aim to use more precise phrases for academic and professional benefits, and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general wording with accurate expressions will help you explain your ideas more clearly and naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt some longer sentences using clauses, such as the explanation beginning “Especially when it is a English speaking country,” but control is inconsistent. Many sentences contain errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “It will help improving” needs a different verb pattern, while “the families who are belongs” combines incompatible verb forms. Several fragments, including “which Helps in developing experience the real life difficulties,” also make relationships between ideas unclear. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, further affecting readability. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with subordinate clauses. Careful editing for complete sentences, articles, and subject–verb agreement would improve clarity.
