Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this contemporary era, all the collages are providing the work placement to their students. On that note, all the academic institute undergraduate courses shoukd added in a period of time spent studing overseas or doing a internship. Eventhough this trend has few merits, the demerits are far more.

There are a lot of advantages assocated with this trend. To commence with, students can improve their communication skills because they having a chance to talk with overseas councelling. secondly, students get better job opportunity as a internship in foreign country. In other words, some universities are tide with foreign offices which is beneficial for the candidates who are study in this collage. For example, parul university gives opportunity to their students to do internship in Canada because this university make contract with some compmies.

Furthermore, while students spent time in abroad for their internship they having chance to learn about different culture. For instance, students are working with their co-workers they have to chnce to learn about different tradition and lifestyles. In addition to this, pupils can become indepedent because they need to do all arrangement by them selves. Therefore, this trend has many advantages associated gor the students.

In conclusion, eventhough, students need to face academic pressure, I still believe that many advantages are possible for the students like improvr their communication skills, get better job opportunity, their can learn about different culture and they become independent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You take a position that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, and you identify relevant benefits such as improved communication, employment prospects, cultural learning and independence. However, the essay mainly develops the advantages, while the disadvantage is reduced to “academic pressure” in the conclusion; this does not explain why the drawbacks are greater. The position is therefore not consistently supported, and the example about Parul University is brief rather than clearly showing how a placement benefits students. The response also falls 12 words short of the required 250-word minimum. To strengthen the answer, explain at least one substantial disadvantage in the body and compare its impact with the benefits before reaching a clear conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs about benefits and a conclusion. Sequencing within the benefits is generally understandable, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Furthermore” and “In addition to this” help show the intended relationships. However, the overall progression is weakened because the essay promises that disadvantages are greater but does not develop a disadvantage paragraph. Some linking is mechanical or repetitive, and the example about the university is not clearly connected to the broader point about job opportunities. Improve cohesion by organising the essay around a clear comparison—one paragraph for benefits, one for drawbacks—and use references and transitions that make each example’s relevance explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “communication skills,” “job opportunity,” “different culture” and “independent,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “In conclusion” and “academic pressure.” However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form and collocation errors make the writing less clear or natural, including “collages,” “assocated,” “councelling,” “tide with” and “do an internship.” Repetition of “students” and “advantages” also limits flexibility. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common academic collocations; for example, say “partnered with overseas companies” rather than “tide with foreign offices.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Even though this trend has few merits…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” These attempts show some range, but complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to follow. Examples include “courses shoukd added,” “they having a chance,” “students are study,” and “they need to do all arrangement.” Articles, verb forms and agreement need particular attention. Practise building accurate sentences with a subject and correctly formed verb—for example, “students have a chance to speak with people overseas”—before adding clauses. Check each sentence for tense, agreement and articles.
