Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the contemporary age, some argue bachelor's students should invest an amount of the duration in jobs or studying in a foreign country. I believe that this approach to undergraduate studies can have positive development rather than drawbacks.

University life is a phase where pupil have to navigate through different courses, assignments and quizes which get tedious overtime. Undergraduate students, can benefit from job recuritment or foreign education during this four years period. Job placement can give young learners financial freedom. In addition, students can manage their tution fee without being a burden on their parents. Moreover, Undergraduate students get an opportunity to learn from the best in particular fields, while managing studies and work life. Furthermore, a semester in foreign semseter contributes to cross-cultural exposure and various learning ways.

On the contrary, this modification can lead to negative results as well. Managing studies and work can be burden on students, because young learners already have a lot on their plate such as, they have weekly assignments, quizes, presentations and examinations in semester system. All these activities along with the work force can have psychological burden on the youth which then results in the mental health issues such as, anxiety, and depression. Additonally, students might struggle in pursuing their education abroad because of the language barrier and an alien educational system.

In conclusion, positive outcome of job recruitment or study abroad during undergraduate studies outwheigh the negative results. With the introduction of internship or semester exchange in the bachelor's give students cross-cultural exposure, financial freedom, and studies and work force managment. So, I firmly believe that job recruitment oe semester exhange can be beneficial in a undergraduate corse.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you believe the benefits of placements or overseas study outweigh the drawbacks, and you address both sides of the question. Relevant advantages include financial independence and cross-cultural exposure, while you also recognise workload pressure and language barriers. This covers the task well, but some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, you say students can learn from the best in their fields, without showing how a placement or overseas semester enables this or giving a concrete example. The mental-health concern is relevant, but its link to the required period abroad or in work could be developed further. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of each main point and support at least one with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Moreover,” and “On the contrary” help signal relationships between ideas. This gives the essay a coherent progression, though some connections feel mechanical, and several points are listed rather than developed into a connected argument. For instance, the benefits paragraph moves from financial freedom to learning from experts and then cultural exposure without explaining how these ideas relate. The conclusion also repeats several points rather than drawing them together. Use fewer formulaic transitions and build clearer links between each claim, its explanation, and its relevance to your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of vocabulary relevant to education and student life, including “financial freedom,” “cross-cultural exposure,” “language barrier,” and “mental health issues.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “job recuritment” and “job recruitment” do not accurately describe a work placement, while “foreign semester” and “work force managment” are awkward in context. There are also misspellings such as “outwheigh” and “exhange.” Aim for precise, natural phrases and proofread carefully. Using terms such as “work placement,” “exchange semester,” and “workload management” would make your argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a clause explaining that workload “results in” mental-health problems and a contrast introduced by “On the contrary.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction recur. For example, “pupil have to navigate” needs a plural subject and matching verb, while “can be burden on students” is missing an article. In the conclusion, “the introduction of internship or semester exchange in the bachelor's give students” has problems with article use, number, and subject–verb agreement. Some punctuation also interrupts the flow, as in “such as, they have weekly assignments.” Review agreement and article use, and edit each sentence for a complete, grammatically consistent structure.
