Student answer (Band 4.5)

As we are given the statement that the undergraduate students studyig in pakistan should include a period of time that include studying abroad or doing a work placement in the forgien country .In my opnion i will strongly agree with this statment .

I think this thing should be normalize in all over our country .beacuse this thing is very important for the students . It results in building confidence in the student. It help the student to build a strong character that will help the student in her or his future .When a student his or her is sent to a forgien country he is alone and there is now to look after him .And he have to do all his work by himself. The habit of doing all his work alone make him independent and active. .when the students are sended to the forgien countries they are able to build a strong communicatin skills that is also very helpfull for the students future.Beacuse in forgien countries they are able to interact with the people of the different countries and different races. The students they are studying with are of different types japanese, chinese, americans,or black peoples.By this opportunity they are able to scale them internationally. And they are able to interact with different cultures.which can help the student in building a bright future. And the important thing the study of the forgien is hard and practical as same as the case with the work placement.

peopleconclusion of all the things is that the student shold go abroad for study or work placement beacuse it gives him new study experience and the chance to interact wit

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly support including overseas study or work placements, and you give relevant reasons such as greater independence, confidence, communication skills, and exposure to other cultures. These points address the topic, but the response only partly answers the “outweigh the disadvantages” question: it does not identify or weigh any disadvantages, such as cost, homesickness, or unequal access. Several benefits are asserted rather than explained—for example, the claim that students can “build a bright future” needs a specific explanation or example. To strengthen the response, discuss both sides and make a direct comparison showing why the benefits are more significant, using a concrete example to develop your main reasons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a recognisable overall direction: it begins with your opinion, gives reasons in the main section, and attempts a conclusion. However, ideas are not arranged into clear, well-developed paragraphs, and the progression is difficult to follow. Many points are joined in one long sequence with repeated “And,” “Because,” and “which,” while the final phrase, “peopleconclusion of all the things,” makes the ending especially unclear. References such as “this thing” and repeated use of “the student” also make connections between ideas less precise. Organise the essay into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for key benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Use linking phrases selectively and make each sentence’s relationship to the previous one clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “independent,” “confidence,” “communicatin skills,” and “different cultures,” so the reader can identify the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “student,” “foreign country,” and “help.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “forgien,” “normalize,” and “scale them internationally,” which make some meanings less clear or sound unnatural. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, “develop intercultural communication skills” is more natural and specific than “build a strong communication skills,” while “gain international experience” expresses the intended idea more clearly than “scale them internationally.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences to explain cause and effect, but the range of sentence structures is limited and many sentences contain errors that can make the reader work to understand them. Examples include “It results in building confidence in the student,” “And he have to do all his work by himself,” and “The habit of doing all his work alone make him independent.” These show problems with sentence construction, subject–verb agreement, and pronoun consistency. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also unreliable: several ideas run together, while full stops appear in awkward places. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, checking that each has a clear subject and verb, then combine ideas using accurate clauses. Proofread agreement, articles, and punctuation.
