Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You make an attempt to discuss both study abroad and work placements, and you state a position with “I partially advantage to outweight the disadvantage.” However, the position is difficult to interpret, and the essay does not clearly weigh the advantages against the disadvantages as the question requires. The first body paragraph focuses largely on online lectures and exams rather than explaining how an overseas study period or placement benefits undergraduates. The second mentions work and government rules, but the connection to the proposed compulsory period is unclear. The Canada example is also not explained enough to support a relevant point. To improve, state clearly which side outweighs the other, then develop relevant reasons and examples directly about the policy.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand” and “To conclude” show an attempt to organise the discussion. However, ideas are not arranged in a consistently logical progression, and links between sentences are often unclear. For example, the move from online learning to teachers giving information about attendance, then to the Canada anecdote, does not build one clear argument. In the second body paragraph, climate change, work, government rules and students’ subjects are brought together without explaining their relationships. The conclusion introduces a fine and disparity between countries that have not been established earlier. Use one main point per paragraph and connect each supporting detail explicitly to it.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “communication skills,” “online learning platforms,” “work placement” and “disparity.” There is also some effort to use less common expressions, such as “positive development.” However, word choice, spelling and collocation errors are frequent enough to strain understanding: “collages” for “colleges,” “leacture” for “lecture,” “advantagoues” and “cretiare” make parts difficult to follow. Phrases such as “I partially advantage” and “giving time able” are not natural or clear in this context. Build a reliable set of accurate expressions for discussing benefits, drawbacks and policy, and check spelling and word forms. Prefer precise, familiar vocabulary over ambitious phrases whose meaning is uncertain.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You try to form longer sentences and use subordinate links, for example “Owing to…” and “Consequently…,” as well as a range of time references. However, sentence structures are very limited in control, and frequent errors can distort meaning. Examples include “many collages nowadays giving,” which lacks a correctly formed verb, “it make climate changes,” with incorrect agreement, and “students are went,” which combines incompatible verb forms. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries are also often inaccurate, as in “in all over the university” and “For instance, In Canada.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add one clause at a time. Check subject–verb agreement, tense, articles and punctuation during revision.
