Student answer (Band 4.5)

Majority of the undergragradutae student should get the opportinity to do career realted courses because i think this is the right time to select the profession or degree which help them to select the right path.In addition, the variety of courses provode aid to the students in selecting the better career.

First of all, it is the important stage and many of the student distracted here just because they did not get the right path to follow. If the universities start providing the ficilities of getting short courses about theit career they can get more appropriately understand the positive as well as negative conseqences of their interest. For instance, if the university introduce the course related to studying abroad named future in abraid and provide the criteria that should be meet while applying for the study abroad this will help student to identify that he/she will better fit in it or not. Diring the courses theu can get the stratagies which will help me to avail more opportunities in fulfilling their dream.

Despite this student can able to identify their core interest nad which will help them to lend a career for them.

To sum up whole dicsussion, i firmly belive that undergarduate stuents need some kind of short courses which will help student to select the rught path in thier future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response is only partly focused on the question. The prompt asks whether a required period of study abroad or work placement has more advantages than disadvantages, but your essay mainly argues that undergraduates should have access to career-related short courses and guidance about choosing a profession. You do mention studying abroad and suggest that a course could help students assess whether it suits them, but you do not discuss work placements, weigh advantages against disadvantages, or state a clear position on whether the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The example is relevant in a limited way, but its explanation remains unclear. The response is also 30 words below the required minimum. Address every part of the prompt and develop both your position and supporting reasons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph, a main paragraph beginning “First of all,” and a concluding sentence introduced by “To sum up.” This gives the reader some sense of an essay structure. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the discussion shifts from study abroad to short career courses without explaining how these relate to the required placement in the question. The sentence beginning “Despite this” does not clearly contrast with the preceding point, and several ideas repeat the claim that students need help choosing a career. Use paragraphs to separate distinct arguments, connect each point explicitly to the prompt, and choose linking expressions that show the actual relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “profession,” “positive as well as negative consequences,” “criteria,” and “opportunities.” These choices show an effort to discuss education and career planning. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent enough to distract the reader, as in “opportinity,” “conseqences,” “stratagies,” and “undergarduate.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “career related courses,” “lend a career for them,” and “future in abraid.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms connected to the actual task—such as “work placement,” “international experience,” and “practical skills”—would also help keep the vocabulary relevant.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure: “If the universities start providing … they can …” This shows some willingness to use more than basic sentence patterns. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “many of the student distracted” needs a complete verb phrase, while “the course … this will help student” has unclear sentence boundaries and inconsistent number. In “students can able to identify,” the verb pattern is incorrect. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences first, then check agreement and verb patterns when adding clauses. Punctuation and capitalisation also need more consistent control.
