Student answer (Band 4.5)

For a student university is a place of knowledge boosting where a student can learn at the same time they can practice their creativity.Hence, it should not only for learning,it needs some planning how can a student execute his knowledge in their higher studies or in work place. However, there are different advantages of including undergraduate courses at the time of studying abroad or work station. It might be helped to boost the previous knowledge when studying abroad or working at job.But In my opinion it could be burden for student further study of undergraduate courses and might be tiring for them.So it can be said that it is one kind of disadvantage if it includes the courses. For example,if the undergraduate programmes includes at work place,it will may reduce their present work growth. But it included then it would have more helped them their knowledge boosting which is very helpful to work growth also. Finally it can be concluded that, every aspects has different views and advantages as well as disadvantages. From which we have to find out the right or more benficial way that can be more significant and convenient for our well being that can helps us to choose righteous path.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You address the topic and give a personal view, saying that overseas study or placements could build knowledge but might burden students and affect their work growth. However, the position is not sustained clearly: the response first presents the experience as beneficial, then calls it a disadvantage, and ends without deciding whether advantages outweigh disadvantages. The example about a placement reducing “present work growth” is difficult to interpret and is not explained, while the benefits are asserted rather than supported with a specific reason or example. The response therefore deals with the question only minimally, and it is 51 words below the required minimum. To improve, state your judgement directly and develop two relevant points with clear explanations and examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: it opens with a general statement about university, uses “However” to introduce a contrast, and ends with a conclusion. These signals show an effort to guide the reader. However, the ideas do not progress in a clear sequence, and the contrast between benefits and disadvantages is not resolved. Several sentences combine unrelated points, such as the claim that a placement may reduce work growth followed by the assertion that it would help knowledge and work growth. There are no distinct body paragraphs to separate the arguments, and linking phrases such as “Finally” and “From which” do not clarify the relationships between ideas. Use a clear introduction, one paragraph for each side, and a conclusion that answers the question.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “undergraduate courses,” “studying abroad,” “work place,” and “knowledge.” This gives the reader a general sense of the subject. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated or used in unnatural combinations, which sometimes makes the meaning hard to follow. For example, “knowledge boosting,” “work station,” and “righteous path” are not suitable or precise in this context; “work station” also does not mean a work placement. There are spelling and word-form problems, such as “benficial,” that reduce accuracy. Build a small set of accurate phrases for discussing placements, practical skills, costs, and career development, and check that each phrase fits its context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “However” and a conditional example beginning “if the undergraduate programmes…”. This shows some effort to vary sentence structure. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation occur frequently enough to make parts difficult to understand. For instance, “it should not only for learning” is missing a verb, “it will may reduce” combines incompatible modal forms, and “programmes includes” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. Several sentences also run together without appropriate spacing after punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking each clause for a complete verb and consistent agreement.
