Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a position in the introduction and conclusion: you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the response addresses the question only minimally because it does not explain how studying abroad or completing a placement benefits students, or what specific disadvantages these experiences create. Claims such as “improved their social values” and “the most obvious drawback” are not clarified, and the examples about Germany and India are vague and do not show a clear connection to the argument. To strengthen the response, explain relevant effects—for example, how a placement develops practical skills, and whether cost or disruption to study is a significant drawback—then support each point with a specific example. Keep the comparison focused on whether the benefits outweigh the costs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting opposing sides, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help identify this basic structure. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow: several statements are incomplete or disconnected, including “Another major possitive impact of this economy” and “The most obvious drwaback is that this alarmingly.” Linking phrases such as “Not only for this” do not clearly connect ideas, and the conclusion repeats the position without resolving the comparison. Build each paragraph around one clear point, explain it, and then give a relevant example; use linking expressions only where they show a genuine relationship.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt some topic-related and evaluative vocabulary, including “advantages,” “disadvantages,” “merits,” “demerits,” and “outshine.” This gives the response some range beyond very basic wording. However, vocabulary is often inaccurate, repetitive, or difficult to understand, which strains communication. Examples include “social values,” “this economy,” “complete with economy,” and “the figuare can decrease further”; these do not convey a clear meaning in context. There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “universty,” “studing,” and “drwaback.” Choose precise terms connected to the topic, such as “professional skills,” “cultural awareness,” or “financial costs,” and check spelling and collocations carefully. Avoid using formal-sounding phrases unless their meaning is clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening (“while some…”) and the conditional “If situation is not improved…”. However, control is weak: errors in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation frequently make the meaning unclear. For instance, “In the following paragraph i would established my opinion” has an incorrect verb form, while “the merits and demerits complete with economy wirth each other” does not form a clear grammatical sentence. Several fragments, including “Not only for this,” also interrupt the flow. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses accurately. Check tense and agreement, use articles where needed, and punctuate sentence boundaries consistently.
