Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, everyone has to attend these four difficult years just because of getting good job placements and have a better future. I believed that undergraduate courses include a long hectic period which is in fact has positive and negative aspects as well.

On one hand, university train students in such a way that they would easily tackle every tough situation in life. They have to do jobs and different buisnesses so, it is important for them to deal with real time and practical hands-on experiences. As i think every university has activities like quizzes and assignments which requires critical thinking. In most of the cases assignments in groups have shape it into a higher level because dealing with numerous people to make a group activty enhaces thier confidence. Also projects and presentation infront of whole class should devolep communication skills to a large extent.

On the other hand, there should be a risk that if anyone who belongs to undergraduate program make best at university by making extra ordinary assignments and presentations but did not create basic level modern society demanding skills and abilities then they are not able to make any job placement or do a job which we dreams of. So, the solution of this is to develop advance skills according to thier domain and do extraordinary in that domain then he might got such a tremendous job or creating a buisness which pays of thier upcoming generations that they could easily get earning by seating on thier ancestors chairs.

Overall, undergraduates programs have both advantages in that way develop communication and empowerment skills and disadvantages in that way that university is not sign the contract to give permenantly job placement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response recognises that the proposal may have both benefits and drawbacks, and it mentions practical experience, confidence and communication skills. However, it does not directly evaluate the specific requirement that every undergraduate spend time studying abroad or completing a work placement. Much of the discussion instead concerns ordinary university activities such as quizzes, group assignments and presentations, which only indirectly relate to the question. The position on whether advantages outweigh disadvantages is also unclear: the conclusion says there are both, but does not decide which is greater. To strengthen the response, state a clear view and develop relevant comparisons—for example, how placements improve employability and what costs or access difficulties they may create.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a concluding sentence. This helps readers identify the broad direction of the response. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from jobs to quizzes, group assignments and presentations without clearly connecting these examples to overseas study or placements. The second contains a long chain of ideas about skills, employment and future generations, making the main point difficult to follow. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “this” and “that way” are not always precise. Organise each paragraph around one relevant claim, then explain its consequence and give a focused example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “practical hands-on experiences,” “critical thinking,” “communication skills” and “job placement.” These expressions show an effort to discuss education and employment, but inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make meaning harder to interpret. Examples include “buisnesses,” “activty,” “enhaces,” “devolep” and “permenantly.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “make best at university” and “seating on thier ancestors chairs.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and use vocabulary directly connected to the prompt, such as “work placement,” “international study experience” and “career prospects.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make the ideas clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional language in “if anyone … make best at university … then they are not able,” and it uses contrastive structures to organise points. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “university train students” needs subject–verb agreement, while “I believed” is inconsistent with the present-focused discussion. The clause “a long hectic period which is in fact has” combines incompatible structures, and the final sentence, “university is not sign the contract,” is difficult to parse. Use shorter, controlled sentences first, then build complexity with accurate clauses and check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
