Student answer (Band 4.5)

All the universities undegraduate courses should include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement.

In my opinion, it has advantages for the students who wants to study abroad because the universities of abroad, offers much opportunities to the students to learn some new skills, and also have experience in various fields of life. And they can work on cafes and restuarants, and it is a best way to sport their family.

First of all, the universities must gaves the chance to the students, who would be able for this type of opportunity. A university must include a period of time to spent studying abroad, it has a great influence on students. If a student, went to abroad for education it is a massive chance for him, because there is lot of facilities for students. The student should work as well as to continue his studies. It is best way for him to sport his parents financially, he could afford the fees of universities byself. For example, my friend goes to london for studies and he works there on a meat shop, and arrange all the burden of his studies and saved money for future.

And another important point is that, if the student studies with anthusisiam and do more focus on his study, and he select a field which is very popular nowadays. So after completing studies he got a good level jod there, and become a successful men. Moreover, he should be moved permanently to this country for his bright future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a relevant opinion that overseas study or work can help students gain experience and support themselves financially, and the example of your friend in London is pertinent. However, the response does not clearly weigh advantages against disadvantages: it develops benefits only and does not explain any drawbacks or why the benefits outweigh them. Several points, such as moving abroad permanently, are asserted rather than explained. The response is also below the required 250 words: 242 words, with 15 words copied from the prompt excluded from the count. To strengthen the response, state your position directly, address both sides of the comparison, and develop each main reason with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction and two body paragraphs, and phrases such as “First of all” and “Moreover” signal relationships between ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because several sentences combine loosely connected points, and the second body paragraph shifts from studying diligently to choosing a popular field and then settling permanently abroad without explaining the links. The opening paragraph also repeats the task before presenting an unclear line of reasoning. Use one central idea per paragraph, connect each example explicitly to that idea, and include a paragraph addressing disadvantages. More precise referencing and fewer abrupt transitions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is basic but includes some relevant topic language, including “work placement,” “financially,” “facilities,” and “successful.” However, repetition of general words such as “student,” “study,” and “chance” limits precision, while several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response less clear: “sport” appears to mean “support,” “restuarants” is misspelled, and “a good level job” is not a natural phrase. “Universities of abroad” is also an awkward expression. Build a more accurate range of phrases for discussing benefits and drawbacks, and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe how placements develop practical skills or improve employment prospects rather than relying on broad claims.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional idea in “If a student, went to abroad for education…” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently. Examples include “students who wants,” “universities…offers,” “must gaves,” and “he got a good level job.” The sentence beginning “And another important point is that” does not form a complete, well-controlled structure, and commas interrupt clauses unnecessarily. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Careful editing for tense consistency and punctuation would improve clarity.
