Student answer (Band 4.0)

All university undergraduate courses should add a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement. In my opinion, all university should follow these instruction. In addition, this involvement can create various opportunities to students.

To begin with, all universty have their own rules to make student future best and secure. Their management create various instructions and also try to concetrate on students and provide them their degree. All universities undergraduate courses should include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement because it help student to rum their study easily and confidently. For instance, if a student has studied abroad for some time and get admission in another university after few semester then management of new university should allow him to continue his study instead of as a new commer.

Moreover, it aso think that this opinion have many drawbacks and create problems instead of providing any advantage to student. For instance, a person wil not be able to achieve degree and lost all his experience and knowledge. In addition, work placement is good for youngone consequently, it depends on university employees that they give anyone occasion to learn in their university or not.

Furthurmore, it depends on situation so, in my opinion, university should need to thought about this development and also allow to employeers to spend time their as a true student because if they open this opportunity, it will help many individuals and also make them happy and survive easily as a good student.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You state a general view in favour of including overseas study or work placement, and you attempt to discuss both benefits and drawbacks. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening supports the proposal, while the third paragraph says it may create problems, without explaining how this affects your overall judgement about whether advantages outweigh disadvantages. The examples are also unclear or only loosely connected to the question; the example about transferring universities does not show how a placement or overseas study benefits students. The response is 225 words, below the required 250, and 28 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop relevant reasons and explain each example, then give a clear comparison and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has an introduction followed by separate paragraphs, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore” show an attempt to organise ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the main point changes or remains unclear within paragraphs. For example, the first body paragraph moves from university rules to transferring between universities, while the next introduces drawbacks but then shifts to work placements. Some links, including “consequently,” do not clearly express the relationship between the ideas that follow. To improve, give each paragraph one central point, explain it in a logical sequence, and use linking expressions only when their meaning fits the connection.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to education, including “undergraduate courses,” “work placement,” “degree,” and “opportunity,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make ideas unclear, such as “make student future best and secure,” “rum their study,” and “give anyone occasion.” Spelling errors such as “universty,” “concetrate,” and “Furthurmore” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use precise phrases for the benefits and practical challenges of placements, and check spelling carefully. For example, describe students as gaining “practical experience” or developing “career-related skills,” rather than relying on vague references to opportunities.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “if,” and “that.” This shows some effort to vary sentence structure, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to make several ideas hard to understand. Examples include “all university should follow,” “it help student,” and “this opinion have many drawbacks.” The sentence beginning “Furthurmore, it depends on situation so” also joins ideas without clear punctuation or a complete grammatical structure. Practise forming accurate subject–verb combinations and checking each clause for a clear subject and verb. Shorter, controlled sentences would help communicate your reasoning more reliably.
