Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a position—“I firmly believe” the advantages outweigh the disadvantages—and mention relevant benefits, including access to research opportunities and the financial value of an internship. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain any disadvantages, compare the two sides, or develop its examples. The final point about limited educational facilities is cut off, so its relevance and supporting reasoning remain unclear. The response also falls short of the required 250 words, leaving too little space to answer all parts of the question. To improve, explain both a benefit and a drawback, then show why the benefit is more significant, using a specific example for support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening gives your position, and the next sentences introduce benefits and begin to explain one of them. Linking expressions such as “as” and “therefore” show an effort to connect ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the points are compressed together, and the final sentence ends abruptly. The relationship between studying abroad, work placements, research opportunities, and educational facilities is not made clear. There is also no developed paragraph structure to separate the argument’s stages. Use distinct paragraphs for your position, advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion, and connect each point with clear references and logical transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “research projects,” “internship,” “facilities,” and “potential,” which helps communicate the general subject. There is also an effort to use more formal language, for example “significance” and “impactful.” However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts of the argument hard to understand, such as “significance importance,” “utilizing for abroad education,” and “working lab.” Spelling errors, including “universties” and “brillient,” also reduce clarity. Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than combining several near-synonyms. For example, use “study abroad,” “gain access to well-equipped laboratories,” and “the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to use both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “as studying abroad help you” and one using “therefore.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction and agreement sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “as studying abroad help” has an agreement problem and does not form a complete, well-controlled clause in context; “the significance importance … are outweight” also has faulty sentence structure and verb form. The final sentence is incomplete, ending with “in alll over w.” Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent as well. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and sentence endings.
