Student answer (Band 5.0)

All undergruate courses in university should consider studying to diffrent countries of look for a job vacancy. This essay will discuss the advantages and disadvantages.

While stuying in the college is such a privilege, there are several reasons why we should consider including a period of time studying abroad in the course syllabus.

If university will include this in undergruate courses it will open a lot of future opportunities for the students to widen their perspective in terms of the profession they lean on, the culture of a country and the beliefs that could change their mind and decision. For Example, If you are studying architecture and wanted to learn more about it you may continue your study in a place that specializes that proffesion like in Barcelona Spain. As the capital of achitecture in the world, you will be able to see how they do things related to your course such as Architectural designs for buildings, inpirations and the Architects themselves.

While the main goal of finishing university is to find for a job, going abroad for a first hand experience of your course is also quite relevant. But the reason you are studying is to equip yourself with knowledge and foundation of the course. If you will look for a work just for monetary purposes or just taking the chance of being abroad while studying, chances are you won't be able to focus on what really is necessary to finish the course you've taken up.

Afterall, not all students are capable of stuying abroad as a fullfilment of a college course. Its important to impose something that is useful and could benefit in the long run for the students.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both the benefits and drawbacks of including overseas study or work experience, and your examples about architecture in Barcelona and students’ ability to afford a placement are relevant. However, the response only partially answers the central question: it does not clearly state whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The opening says the essay will discuss both sides, while the conclusion says only that the requirement should be useful, without making a direct comparison. Several ideas are also under-developed; for instance, the concern that students may lose focus is asserted but not explained with a specific consequence or example. State your position clearly and support each main point with fuller reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to benefits, a drawback, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For Example,” “While,” and “Afterall” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the second body paragraph shifts from the value of work experience to students’ motivation and course completion without fully connecting these points. Some transitions are mechanical, and the conclusion does not clearly follow through on the comparison required by the question. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one central claim, developing it in a logical sequence, and using clear references to connect examples and explanations.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “future opportunities,” “widen their perspective,” “profession,” and “first hand experience.” These phrases show an attempt to discuss education, careers, and cultural learning. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response harder to read, such as “undergruate,” “diffrent,” “proffesion,” and “inpirations.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “look for a job vacancy” and “the course they’ve taken up.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and use precise terms for the proposed options, such as an overseas study period or work placement. This would make your ideas clearer and more appropriate to an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “If university will include this…” and a contrast introduced by “While.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “If university will include” uses an unsuitable verb form after “if,” while “the profession they lean on” has an unclear grammatical relationship. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “the capital of achitecture in the world.” Practise forming accurate conditional sentences and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb. Greater control of these patterns will help communicate your ideas more reliably.
