Student answer (Band 5.0)

IT IS OFTEN BELIEVED THAT A PERIOD OF TIME SPENT STUDYING ABROAD OR DOING A WORK PLACEMENT NEED TO BE KNOWN TO THE ALL THE UNIVERSITY UNDERGRADUATE COURSES. THERE ARE MANY ADVANTAGE LIKE GIVE A STUDNTS A CLEAR PATH WAY TO JOB , HELP TO CHOSE THE TYPE OF COURCE STUDNETS NEED WHILE TELLINNG ABOUTS THE DISADVANTAGES IT CAN BE MORE COSTFULL, THERE IS NEED OF MORE SKILLED EMOPLOYEE AND NEED BETTER CONNECTION WITH THE COMANIES.ACCORDING TO ME ADVANTAGES OUTWEIGHT THE DISADVANTAGES.

FIRSTLY, THERE IS BETTER SELECTION OF THE COURSE ACCOURDING TO THERE NEED SO IT

ALSO HELP STUDNENT TO STAY IN THE PATH AND GIVE A CLEAR DECISION. BY THIS STUDNET CAN GET JOB BY KNOWING THE WORK PLACEMRNT THEY WILL BE FIT TO THE COMPANY WHICH CAN ENSURE THERE JOB AND ALSO GET THE BETTER WORK PLACEMENT WHICH IS CRUCILA THING BECAUSE BY GETTING JOB THERE IS DIRECT CONNECTION THE STUDY AND THE JOB MARKET.

SECONDLY, THERE ARE MANY DISADVANTAGES LIKE THERE IS NEEDED TO BE BETTER CONNECTION WITH THE COMPANY WHICH ALL UNIVERSITY CAN AFFORD IN THE RESONABLE PRICE SO IT IS QUITE EXPENSIVE FOR THOSE STUDENT WHO WANT TO STUDY BUT DON'T HAVE FUNDING SUPPPORT. SO, THIS CAN BE LIMITED TO THE RICH STUDNT AND THERE IS NOT FULLY POSSIBLE TOGIVE THE FIX TIME AND PALCEMENT DEATAILS WHICH ALSO REQUIRED A SKILLED MANPOWER.

IN CONCLUSION, THERE IS MORE ADVANTGE THEN DISADVANTAGES BY THE INCLUEDING THE PERIOD OF TIME STUDIYING OR DOING A PLACEMENT WORK. FOR EXAMPLE BY KNOWING COURSE WHICH HAVE A BETTER ENHANCE THE STUDT AND WORKING IN THE COMPANY CAN HELP A LOT OF STUDENT TO BE CLEAR ON WHICH COURCE CAN BEST FOR THAM.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you address both sides of the question. The benefits you identify—helping students choose a suitable course and improving their prospects of finding work—are relevant. You also recognise practical drawbacks, including cost, unequal access for students without funding, and the need for university-company links and skilled staff. However, these points are often asserted rather than explained, and the conclusion’s example about choosing a course is difficult to follow. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and make the comparison between the benefits and drawbacks more explicit. The response meets the stated length requirement; 12 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main sections, and the position is repeated at the end. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear. The first body paragraph moves from course choice to employment without clearly showing how the ideas connect, while the second combines cost, access, company links, and staffing in a long sequence. Linking phrases such as “so” and “also” are sometimes used mechanically, and references such as “this” do not always make the connection clear. Organise each paragraph around one main point and use precise links to show cause, contrast, or consequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “work placement,” “job market,” “funding support,” and “skilled manpower.” These choices show an effort to discuss education and employment, but the range is limited and many word forms, spellings, and collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to understand. For example, “clear path way to job” and “better enhance the study” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while repeated misspellings such as “studnet” and “cource” reduce clarity. Build a reliable set of topic phrases and check spelling and collocation. Prefer accurate, natural expressions over ambitious wording that is difficult to control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You use some basic sentence patterns and attempt to connect ideas with clauses, for example, “because by getting job there is direct connection the study and the job market.” However, sentence structures are limited, and errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make several ideas hard to follow. Examples include “a period … need to be known,” “there is needed to be better connection,” and “which can best for tham.” Long sentences also run several points together without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them using accurate subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms during revision.
