Student answer (Band 5.5)
NOWADAYS UNIVERSITIES EXPECTED STUDENTS TO PREPARE FOR BETTER FUTURE .SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT IT SHOULD BE NECESSORY TO HAVE APERIOD ABOUT STUDY ABROAD OR TO HAVE A WORK PLACEMENT. I AM ALSO AGREE WITH THIS POINT TO SOME EXTENT BECAUSE IT IS BENEFICIAL FOR GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF CARRER GOALS ACHIEVMENTS.
STUDYING ABROAD PROVIDE CHILDREN TO VALUABLE PERSONAL AND PROFESSION EXPERIENCE.STUDING UNDER WORLD HIGH RANKED INSTITUTION ALLOW GRADUATES AND UNDERGRADUATES NOT ONLY KNOWLEDEGE STABILITY BUT ALSO GAVE THEM ACCESS TO MEET VARIETY OF CULTURES .IN ADDITION STUDING AMONG THOSE WHO BELONGS TO DIFFERENT COUNTRIES ENABLE STUDENTS TO LEARN MULTIPLE LANGUAGE AND EXPERIENCES .MOREOVER STUDYING AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL ALSO BUILD UO CONFIDENCE OF PERSONS TO COMPETE AT INTERNATIONAL GROUND.HOWEVER IF ANY ONE HAVE STRONG EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND HAVE ABILITY TO SERVIVE IN BETWEEN DIFFERENT CULTURES HE OR SHE MUST BE ABLE TO ACHIEVED DECIDED GOALS IN FUTURE DUE TO ITS STRONG SURVIVAL EXPERIENCES WHICH MAKE HIS/HER SELF MORE SMOOTH TO ACCEPT THE PORES AND CONES OF ANY HARD SITUATION .
SIMILARLY WORK PLACEMENT HELPS THE STUDENTS TO CONNECT ACADEMIC KNOWLEDGE WITH PRACTICAL .UNIVERSITY KNOWLEDGE ONLY FOCUS THEORATICAL CONCEPTS BUT EMPLOYER OPPERTUNITIES NOT ONLY PROVIDE PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE BUT ALSO GAVE FINICIAL STABILITY .STUDYING ABROAD IS QUITE EXPENSIVE .STUDY ,TREVELL AND ACCOMODATAION NOT AFFOARDABLE FOR EVERYONE .IN ADDITION STUDENTS HAVE FAMILY RESPONSABILITIES OR DISABILITIES MAY FIND IT DIFFICULT TO LIVE AT OTHER COUNTRY OR COMPLETE A WORK PLACEMENT .THEREFORE UNIVERSITIES SHOULD PROVIDE FLEXIBLE WORK HOURS AND FINICIAL SUPPORT RATHER THAN FORCING EVERY STUDENT TO TO PARTICIPATE IN SAME TYPE OF PROGRAMME.
IN CONCLUSION STUDYING ABROAD AND WORK EXPERIENCE BOTH PLAY SIGNIFICANT ROLE TO BUILD SUCCESSFUL CARRER GROWTH .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the main parts of the prompt by discussing benefits of studying abroad and work placements, acknowledging costs and personal barriers, and stating that these experiences support career growth. The examples about cultural learning, confidence, practical experience and financial support are relevant. However, your position on whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages is not fully clear: “I am also agree with this point to some extent” is qualified, while the conclusion only says both experiences play a significant role. Develop the comparison more explicitly—for example, explain why the benefits outweigh the costs, or under what conditions they do not. Some points, such as the claim that international study builds confidence, would also benefit from a specific example or explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on studying abroad, a paragraph covering work placements and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Moreover,” “Similarly” and “Therefore” help signal relationships between ideas. However, some connections feel mechanical, and the second body paragraph moves quickly from work placements to the expense of studying abroad and then to family responsibilities. This makes the comparison harder to follow. The long sentence beginning “However if any one…” also contains several ideas without clear boundaries. Organise each paragraph around a clear main point, use shorter sentences where ideas shift, and make references such as “this” or “these experiences” explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to education and employment, including “practical experience,” “cultural” learning, “financial stability” and “career growth.” These choices show an effort to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word combinations are frequent enough to make some phrases difficult to interpret, as in “knowledge stability,” “compete at international ground” and “the pores and cones of any hard situation.” Some words are also repeated, particularly “study” and “experience.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations as complete phrases. For instance, use “gain practical experience,” “compete internationally” and “pros and cons,” and choose precise terms such as “career development” rather than repeating general wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “not only… but also…” and the conditional structure beginning “if anyone has…”. This gives the response some variety. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur across the essay and sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Examples include “Studying abroad provide,” “institution allow,” and “work placement helps the students to connect…”. The conditional sentence also shifts between “any one,” “he or she,” and “his/her,” making its structure difficult to control. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and matching verb, and use full stops to separate ideas. More accurate control of these patterns would make your complex sentences easier to follow.
