All university undergraduate courses should include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement.
Do you think the advantages of this would outweigh the disadvantages?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Yes I would agree and it is neccessary and useful for the students of undergraduate programs to earn a practical real time work experience or they wish to spent that time in abroad for better studies and higher education program from well recognized universites.
Many students in my country who wished to study more and they have ability to study and get higher education for the better devolpment of over socities. Some strong background parents encourage their childerns to get higher education from abroad like Medical studies. A varity of students who are able to became a doctor , they went to abroad in such countires like china, America for the complete medical specailist.Such kind of students have not much time to spent in free time routine and other activites that made their minds fresh and and due to this their minds will response better in their studies to achive their goals. And I think that such students don't need to do any works as their parents bear all the expanses of their childern in studies and these student don't works as a part of there studies.
On the other hand, there or many types of students in our country whose parent are not financially strong enough to bear their expanses and they pushed their childs to work to earn some money to support them instead of admitting them in school or college for studies. such students don't performed well in studies. if they wish to study, they were pushed to work in part of their studies to support themselves in their study expanses and also financially helped their parents.these students or childerns became independent before their time and it will helps them in future that they don't need to learn a basic level skill to start their career as they already gain a practical experince of work

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a relevant position in favour of including work experience or overseas study, and the examples about medical students and students who need to earn money relate to the topic. However, the response only partly answers the comparison in the question: it does not clearly explain whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and the opening position is not developed into a consistent argument. The discussion focuses largely on students’ financial circumstances and whether they work, rather than weighing the benefits and drawbacks of a required placement or period abroad for all undergraduates. To strengthen the response, state your judgement clearly and support it with specific reasons, such as employability or cultural learning, while also addressing costs, access, or disruption to study.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response begins with a position, then discusses students who can study abroad, followed by a contrast with students who need to work. The phrase “On the other hand” signals this shift. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the paragraphs do not consistently develop a clear comparison of advantages and disadvantages, and several ideas are joined into long sequences. For example, the discussion of medical students moves from family support to free time and then to study performance without clear links. Use one paragraph for the main advantages and another for disadvantages, with each paragraph centred on a clear topic sentence. More precise referencing and fewer repeated connectors would also make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “higher education,” “financially strong,” “independent,” and “practical experience,” so the reader can identify the general subject of your argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning unclear. Examples include “real time work experience,” “spent in abroad,” and “complete medical specialist”; these do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “universites,” “devolpment,” and “experince” are also noticeable. Build a more precise vocabulary set for placements and overseas study, and check spelling and common word partnerships. For instance, use “gain practical work experience” and “study abroad” rather than translating phrases word for word.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “who” and “if,” but control is inconsistent. Frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “they wish to spent” should use a consistent verb form, while “there or many types of students” has an incorrect verb and “these student don't works” has agreement and verb-form problems. Some sentences also run on, particularly the long sentence about medical students and their study routines. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses carefully. Check subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, and punctuation when editing.
