Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's rapidly growing world, the outer exposure of world plays a crucial role in students development. There should be a window period during the graduation for students to spend their time in studying broad or doing some internships there, which have numerous advantages. However, there are some disadvantages also that I will discuss in following paragraphs.

To commence with the first point of view, the international exposure give individuals a valuable confidence that they can use in their life for growth. Moreover, connection they make in abroad help them in future for any reference in job finding or any help in their careers. Furthermore, learners gain more practical skills other than theoretical knowledge if they come out from their comfort zone. For instance, students prefer to continuous their further studies in Germany because they can find best resources for their future growth and they can learn extra things, apart from their studies.

In addition, this step of spending some time in abroad for study or for doing work can add more value to young learners profile. Since, they can contribute to the nation and can become a valuable asset for their nation, as they can help in improvement of many future technologies after having advance knowledge. In contrast, there are some disadvantages which can also effect some students, as every student is not equally emotionally strong. They can also suffer from many other difficulties as their is sudden shift in the time zone, food and in the environment.

In conclusion, although, spending some time in abroad between the graduation has some disadvantages, benefits of this type of training can add more value in the student's life and also create a path way for the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your response addresses both the benefits and drawbacks and gives a clear overall view: you conclude that the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. Relevant advantages include confidence, career connections, practical skills and added value to students’ profiles. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the Germany example says students can find “best resources” and learn extra things, but does not show how this supports the argument about a required placement for all undergraduates. The disadvantage about emotional strength and adapting to time zones, food and a new environment is relevant, but could be developed with a clearer explanation of its impact and possible limits. More specific examples and fuller comparison of the two sides would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your position. Ideas generally progress from personal benefits to wider national benefits, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore” and “In contrast” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in connecting points. At times, however, the links feel mechanical or do not accurately signal the relationship between ideas. “To commence with the first point of view” is awkward, while “In addition” introduces another benefit but the paragraph then shifts to disadvantages. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the claim it supports; this would make progression smoother and referencing more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “international exposure,” “practical skills,” “theoretical knowledge,” “valuable asset” and “advance knowledge.” These choices show an attempt to discuss education and career development beyond basic terms. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “outer exposure of world,” “studying broad,” “connection they make in abroad,” and “add more value to young learners profile” are difficult to interpret smoothly. There are also form and spelling issues, such as “effect” where “affect” is intended and “path way.” Aim for natural combinations such as “gain international experience,” “study abroad,” and “build professional networks.” More accurate collocations and word forms would make your ideas clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional clause (“if they come out from their comfort zone”) and a concession in the conclusion. The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is incorrect in “the international exposure give” and “connection they make … help”; articles and possessives are also missing or inaccurate in phrases such as “students development” and “in student's life.” Other examples include “Since,” incorrectly separating a dependent clause from the sentence, and “their is” instead of “there is.” Punctuation around introductory phrases is sometimes awkward, as in “In conclusion, although,”. Review agreement, articles, possessives and clause boundaries, while continuing to practise complex sentences; greater control would make the range more effective.
