Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic by discussing both possible benefits and drawbacks, and you include a personal example about studying in Singapore, completing an internship, and later moving to Europe for a master’s degree. However, the response only partially answers the key question: your opinion on whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages is not stated clearly or consistently. The conclusion says both sides need to be balanced, rather than deciding which side is stronger. Several ideas are also difficult to follow or remain under-developed, such as the claim that students who cannot afford overseas study may stop studying. To improve, state your position directly in the introduction and conclusion, then explain and support two or three relevant reasons. The 12 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” a personal-experience paragraph, and a conclusion. These divisions help readers identify the broad stages of your discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from internships to studying abroad and then to a “future dream country” without explaining the links. Connectors such as “Then,” “After,” and “Other way” are sometimes used inaccurately or leave relationships between ideas unclear. The conclusion also introduces government help without developing that point earlier. Use topic sentences and arrange each paragraph around one main idea, linking examples explicitly to your argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “internship,” “studying abroad,” “part-time job,” and “master programme,” and you try to express ideas about opportunity, affordability, and career outcomes. However, the usable range is limited, and frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices sometimes make meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “socity,” “oprtunaty,” “possision,” and “blance”; phrases such as “life misson” and “advanced in over life” are also unclear or unnatural. These issues fit a limited but minimally adequate range, with noticeable errors that can cause difficulty for the reader. Build a bank of accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling, word forms, and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You use some simple sentences and attempt longer structures, including “Some student are missing this opportunity because…” and the sentence describing your study and work experience. However, the range of sentence patterns is limited, and attempts to combine ideas often contain frequent errors that make parts of the response difficult to interpret. For example, “Every university gives a student to this benefit” has an unclear grammatical structure, while “Undergraduate courses are including a 6 months internship period” has problems with verb form and number. Subject–verb agreement, articles, and tense are also inconsistent, as in “he working bank assistant” and “He take a high position.” Practise accurate basic clauses first, then join them with because, although, and which.
