Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowdays, all university undergraduate courses should include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement. In my opinion this development is substancial advantages. We will discuss this essay what are its advantages.
On the first hand, the main advantage are international exposure. It is largely because students learn about differnt culture and traditions and the second main reason reason is problem-solving skills. furthermore, students learn how to deal with difficult situation and they learn many knowledge and they can help in future time. The other advantage are improve thier communication skill. As a result student have learn a english language, as a ressuly they are very benefical for students life.
On the other hand, the primary disadvantage are high expenses , it is largely because student have spend a lot of money of travel and accomodation. As a result they spent money for buy a rent on house , buy a daily vegetables, travel, go for trip they spend a lot of money. althrough they have no undersand a value of money. The second disadvanage are homesickness. students hve lack of connection with family and students has live alone as well as sometime they are in stress. The other reason are culture diffrences. It may be difficult to adjust a new culture.
On the way of conclusion, goverment should less the ticket price for student and gave a many facilities for students and getting a better life for students in abroad. So these are many advantages as compare to disadvanatges.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a relevant opinion that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you identify several pertinent points, including cultural exposure, communication skills, expense and homesickness. However, the position is not consistently explained: the opening says the development has “substancial advantages,” while the conclusion mainly proposes reducing costs rather than clearly weighing the two sides. Most points are listed rather than supported with specific examples or explanation, so the response only partially develops the task. The response is 235 words, which is 15 words below the 250-word minimum; 18 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Use the additional space to explain how a placement benefits students and why those benefits outweigh its costs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: the advantages paragraph moves from cultural exposure to problem-solving and communication without showing how the points connect. Linking phrases such as “On the first hand,” “On the other hand,” and “As a result” are repeated or used awkwardly, and some references are unclear, as in “they are very benefical for students life.” The conclusion also introduces government support without linking it clearly to the overall comparison. Organise each paragraph around a main idea, then explain and illustrate it, using transitions only where they clarify the relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “international exposure,” “problem-solving skills,” “accommodation,” and “homesickness,” which helps communicate the main subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “students,” “advantage,” and “disadvantage.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “substancial,” “differnt,” “ressuly,” and “benefical,” which can make the reader pause. Some combinations are unclear or unnatural, for example “learn many knowledge” and “buy a rent on house.” Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing costs, independence and cultural adjustment, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use basic connectors to express reasons and results, but sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently. Subject–verb agreement is often inaccurate, as in “the main advantage are” and “the primary disadvantage are.” Verb forms and sentence construction also cause difficulty in “students have learn a english language” and “student have spend a lot of money.” Articles, plurals and punctuation need attention; for example, “a new culture” is used where the sentence requires a different grammatical pattern, and several sentences run together after full stops or commas. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas using controlled clauses such as “because” and “although.”
