Student answer (Band 5.0)

Total uneversities should have the undergraduate courses include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a waork placement.I believe that it is a positive thing. In my opinion that should be in all uneversities due to this thought has more advantages also has a some disadvantages.

From my perpective, there a more advantages about undergraguate courses which include the courses about studying abroad. The biggest advantage of this if uneversities have undergraduate courses then students can early graduate from uneversities and they can move into other countries for study purpose.Additionally, the other advantage about this if student have undergraduate degree then they can timely move into own other life activities.Furthermore, student can get other knowlege from undergraduate courses and give the knowledge about other education things. For intstance which developed countries have a good institutes about education then student can get a chance to move into their countries.

However, undergraduate courses also have a disadvantages. The main disadvatage of this if the uneversities will include the undergraduate courses into studying time then students will disturb in own main study. In addition to this which student does not want to do undergraduate courses then they will do not focus on their studies. For example all universities will offer undergraduate courses then students will move from easy education and then they will leave own their main study.

In conclusion undergraduate courses should be in uneversities they have more advantages for studying in abroad and also undergraduate courses is favourable for students. Therefore, i believe that this is a positive think.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a clear overall view that the proposal is positive, and you include both advantages and disadvantages. However, the response only minimally addresses the actual task: it does not clearly explain how a period abroad or a work placement would produce the claimed benefits. For example, “students can early graduate” and “move into other countries for study purpose” are not convincingly linked to these experiences, and the disadvantages are also vague. The conclusion repeats your position rather than weighing the two sides. The response is 242 words, below the 250-word minimum; 11 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop relevant reasons with specific explanations or examples, and make the comparison of advantages and disadvantages explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “Additionally,” “Furthermore,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited because several points repeat or do not clearly connect to the topic. For instance, the claims about graduating early, moving abroad, and pursuing “other life activities” are listed without showing how one idea leads to the next. References such as “this” and “they” are sometimes unclear. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one central reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to education, including “undergraduate courses,” “studying abroad,” “work placement,” and “developed countries,” so the general subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “undergraduate courses” and “advantages.” Frequent spelling errors—such as “uneversities,” “perpective,” “knowlege,” and “disadvatage”—also make the writing less clear. Some combinations are unnatural, for example “move into own other life activities” and “easy education.” Aim to use more precise terms for the benefits and drawbacks of international study or workplace experience, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer sentences with linking words, and the reader can generally identify your main position. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors are frequent, especially in clauses and agreement. For example, “In my opinion that should be in all universities” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “undergraduate courses also have a disadvantages” has an agreement and article problem. The sentence beginning “The main disadvantage of this if…” is also difficult to follow because its clause structure is incomplete. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate forms. Check articles, singular and plural nouns, and punctuation when editing.
