Student answer (Band 5.5)

Allover the top rated world universities majority have their undergraduate study program that include during the undergraduate courses students must follow the option of studing abroad or do a work placement. It have both advantages and disadvantages. Here i will discuss both my views.

On the one hand, where university has added in their undergraduate courses that student should go abroad or doing interships provided by university during their study program. For going abroad it's not that much easy for every student of a university because of finicial burden, going foreign country is not that much cheap that every student can easily afford becasue international tution fess are more high as compare to own country university.Likewise for work placement if it is with in a city it could be easily manageable with less expenses but if it is out of city or a country it could be a problem to bear expenses of accommodation, transport fears, food other living expenses that every student cant afford it.

On the other hand, providing relocating options for study or work, which gives long lasting benefits for any student of that university. The reaason is that during the study students get real life expreince of living in a foreign country and doing intership or job will get professional expreince that will help students in their after full graduates life. When student entre in his/her professional life they will know about the cooperated sector how they work, how to manage things in a difficult situations. If a students went out of country for study they will know how to handel projects or how to cope up deadlines through experience for international study standard.

In conclusion, I believed that for achiving both options studying foreign country or work placement every university must have provide finicial support to the students through the scholarships or through loan options so that it could not effect student finicialy and every student get both options easily.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question: the financial burden of overseas study or placements, and the benefits of gaining international and professional experience. Your conclusion also gives a clear preference for making these opportunities possible through financial support. However, the response does not directly weigh the advantages against the disadvantages, so the extent to which the benefits outweigh the costs remains somewhat implicit. Several points are asserted rather than developed—for example, you say that international experience helps students in their professional lives, but do not explain in detail how or provide a specific example. Make your position explicit in the introduction and conclusion, then support each main point with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for disadvantages and advantages, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is less controlled: the first body paragraph moves through several costs without clearly grouping or prioritising them, while the benefits paragraph shifts from living abroad to workplace experience and project deadlines. Some links are mechanical, and references such as “both options” in the conclusion are not fully clear. Organise each body paragraph around one main idea, explain it in sequence, and use linking phrases that show the relationship between claims rather than simply marking paragraph stages.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial burden,” “professional experience,” “accommodation,” and “scholarships.” These choices show an attempt to discuss costs and career benefits. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to read, such as “studing,” “finicial,” “tution fess,” and “transport fears.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “after full graduates life” and “international study standard.” Aim to learn accurate topic-related phrases and check spelling carefully. Using more precise expressions for costs, placements, and career preparation would help you communicate your ideas more clearly and avoid repeating general terms such as “experience” and “options.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea about placements being within or outside a city and a relative clause beginning “which gives long lasting benefits.” However, complex structures are often not controlled, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “It have both advantages and disadvantages” should use a verb agreeing with “It,” while “every university must have provide” combines incompatible verb forms. The sentence beginning “On the one hand, where university has added…” is also difficult to follow because its clause structure is incomplete. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a complete main clause.
