Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic by discussing benefits of studying abroad and work placements, and you acknowledge costs, homesickness, and cultural or language difficulties. Your final paragraph also indicates support for including these experiences. However, the response only partially answers the comparison in the question: it does not clearly explain why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and several points are brief or unclear, such as how placements help students use what they have studied. The conclusion introduces settling abroad, which is not clearly connected to the proposal. The response is 21 words below the required minimum, so there is less space to develop and support your position. Explain the comparison directly and add a relevant example to each main point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs on study abroad and work placements, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “However” help signal the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links between ideas are difficult to follow. For example, “when the other foreign country universities to improve the knowledge and skills” does not form a clear connection to the preceding point. The conclusion also shifts to settling in another country without preparing this idea earlier. Use complete, clearly connected sentences, and make each paragraph develop one central point before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “different cultures,” “independent,” “practical experience,” “financial cost,” and “homesick.” These choices show awareness of relevant ideas. However, the range is limited, and inaccurate word choice or collocation sometimes makes meaning difficult to understand. Phrases such as “total particles,” “again partials skills,” and “selected best position” do not communicate the intended ideas clearly; “aboard” is also used where “abroad” is needed. Some expressions, such as “in an companies,” are not natural in this context. Build a reliable set of phrases for academic discussion, and check that each word fits its intended meaning and grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You use some simple sentences and attempt longer structures, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a contrast introduced by “However.” Nevertheless, sentence structures are limited, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make the message hard to follow. Examples include “Some people believes,” “I am strongly agree,” and “the student can going to studies.” The opening also contains incomplete or confusing constructions, such as “Practical experience also very important role.” Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, particularly in the first paragraph. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
