Student answer (Band 5.0)

In our academic structure undergraduate study is very precious and important thing as it makes a student graduate. So, obviously the whole undergraduate course maintain the highest effort to make a student as an eligible person.

I strongly agree with the statement all University undergraduate courses should include a period of time spent in realistic world according to the couses' need.

Throughout my writing, I try to portray why I agree with the statement and what's more we can do.

why we means the students get admitted in a university? The reason is to make them eligible for the work field. So that they can prove themselves a a qualified employee for any organisation. So to make the education realistic, the university should launch some courses where the students get opportunity to prove their quality in the real battlefield. Through these courses they can go through the practical work life.

In our country, the BBA courses contain such tasks in one course, they had to choose a organisation where they will work for a certain time & after completing, they will get marks.

I still remember, one of my friend from BBA dept, in his last semester he had to do 9am-6pm job and faces many struggles of corporate life which makes him more confident and eligible. And when he completed his graduation, he showed his work experience in his CV which gave him extra points compares to the other candidates.

With this statement, I want to add something more like our education should be more realistic & work based. There are some courses, we have got in our university, which don’t have any connection with the prctical life.

So, I am cordially agree with the statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a clear position in favour of including practical experience, and the BBA placement example is relevant: your friend’s workplace experience reportedly increased his confidence and strengthened his CV. However, the response only partially addresses the question because it does not weigh advantages against disadvantages. The discussion focuses almost entirely on benefits, without considering possible costs, unequal access to placements, or disruption to academic study. Some claims, such as practical courses making students “eligible” for work, are asserted rather than fully explained. To develop the response, address both sides and explain why the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, using the example to support a more explicit comparison.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable sequence: an introduction, reasons for practical study, a personal example, and a concluding statement. The BBA example also gives the central argument some continuity. However, progression is uneven, and paragraphing does not clearly separate the main stages of the argument. Phrases such as “Throughout my writing” and “With this statement, I want to add something more” announce the structure rather than connect ideas naturally. The repeated use of “So” and “why” questions makes cohesion feel mechanical, while the final paragraph introduces a related point about courses lacking practical relevance without developing it. Organise the essay into clear paragraphs and use more precise links between claims, evidence, and the conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to education and employment, including “work field,” “practical work life,” “corporate life,” and “work experience.” These choices make your main topic understandable, and “confident” and “qualified employee” help express the intended benefits. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less natural—for example, “realistic world,” “real battlefield,” and “extra points compares to.” There are also spelling errors such as “couses,” “prctical,” and “organisation” is inconsistently handled. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “professional environment” and “gain a competitive advantage,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including explanations with “because” and “which,” and the reader can generally follow your position. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences often contain errors that make reading difficult. Examples include “the whole undergraduate course maintain,” “they had to choose a organisation,” and “one of my friend … he had to do … and faces,” where agreement, articles, plurals, and tense consistency are faulty. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in the lowercase “why” after a full stop and the long sentence beginning “So that they can prove themselves.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly controlled subordinate clause, then check agreement and tense.
