Student answer (Band 5.0)

Personally i believe that, university students should spent sometimes studying abroad or gaining work experience during their degree. I believe that the advantages of this approach outweigh the disadvantages. In my opinion, students can do a practical experience oppertunity, their commmunication skills to improve, and different cultures they understand. Moreover, this types of oppertunities that everyone should grap because in our country not this types of gaining oppertunities that's why some students studying abroad and they grab everything in abroad they also get a better job in company after graduate. On the other hand, disadvantage abroad going is too expensive for some students, they have to live far way from family, every student for adjustment it's not easy to live abroad, and their accomodation is also really expensive to live. Probably, many students thought that we can't afford that much of maoney because if some student try to go abroad first they think it's too massive amount of money that we have to pay that's why many students give up their study dream abroad. Nowadays, aaproximately people are going abroad for their further study or pruse their degrees some students are completed their +2 than after goinf for undergraduate courses in abroad. However, mainly studnets are focus on practical skills and they work in a better company that should really help them to grow their career. In conclusion, their is advantages also or disadvantages these both are fact in the abroad if students are try to live in abroad. Furthermore, some people believe on that this is not meant to me and they give up study abroad.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you address both sides by mentioning practical experience, communication and cultural understanding, as well as cost and separation from family. These are relevant points for the question. However, the position is not consistently developed: the conclusion says both advantages and disadvantages are facts but does not clearly reaffirm which outweighs the other. Several claims, such as students getting “a better job,” are asserted without a specific explanation or example, and the discussion shifts toward studying for a full degree abroad rather than a required placement or study period. Develop fewer points with clearer links to the proposed university requirement and support them with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable overall shape: it introduces a position, presents benefits, considers disadvantages and ends with a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand” and “However” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, ideas are often crowded together in long sentences, and the progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow. The discussion moves from practical skills to opportunities in the country, then to costs and general trends in overseas study without clear paragraph breaks or a consistent line of development. Some links are also unclear, particularly “In conclusion, their is advantages also or disadvantages.” Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each side of the argument and conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “practical experience,” “communication skills,” “different cultures,” “accommodation” and “career.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the ideas you want to express. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow: “do a practical experience opportunity,” “grab everything in abroad” and “massive amount of money” are not natural expressions in this context. Spelling errors such as “oppertunities,” “commmunication” and “accomodation” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for placements and study abroad, and check spelling and collocations so your ideas are expressed clearly and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example the sentence beginning “Probably, many students thought…” and the contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” This shows an effort to connect ideas rather than rely only on short sentences. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction appear in “students should spent,” “their communication skills to improve,” and “some students are completed their +2.” There are also problems with articles, agreement and punctuation, as in “this types of opportunities” and the comma after “believe that.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and build longer sentences from a clear main clause.
