Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, many people think about that all educational institutions in which undergraduate courses must include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement and also it has various advantages that somehow outweigh the disadvantages that discuss below.
Firstly, those universities who provide their pupils different scholarships programs in which they further continue their studies abroad that provide generate lots of benefits for them. For example, one of my cousin got a chance to move an other country for his research proposal that inhanced his ability to build a strong career. Because if students have a solid educational background then they will hire by famous organizations.
Another important point is to facilitate their pupils by doing a part time job that has various merits like they easily fulfill all the financial needs and become a support system for their family.
On the contrast, if our institutions induldge their pupils in these kind of activities then they not fully focused on their studies as well as it develop economical . For instance they preffered international organization for better future that automatically lose our local organizations.
In conclusion, if we consider both merits and demerits about it then we realized that if our government should consider it and imposed these points to various educational system then we easily outweigh all the disadvantages that we face as a citizen of our country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you include relevant points about career prospects, financial support and possible harm to local organisations. However, the response only partially develops the task: the scholarship example concerns studying abroad, while the work-placement point is mainly about earning money, with little explanation of how placements benefit students or how these benefits compare with the drawbacks. The disadvantage that students may lose focus is also asserted rather than explained. The conclusion refers to government action but does not clearly restate a reasoned comparison. The response is 221 words, 29 words below the 250-word minimum; 13 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation and a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting benefits, a paragraph beginning “On the contrast” for the drawback, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Another important point,” and “For example” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression is uneven because the two benefits are separated without a clear comparison, and the final paragraph introduces government policy rather than drawing together the arguments. Some links are inaccurate or unclear, including “Because if students…” and “that automatically lose our local organizations.” Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main claim, then connect explanation and example clearly; make the conclusion directly answer whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to education and employment, including “scholarship programs,” “research proposal,” “financial needs,” and “local organizations.” These choices show an effort to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts difficult to interpret: “provide generate lots of benefits,” “induldge their pupils,” and “it develop economical” are unclear or unsuitable in context. Some phrases, such as “support system for their family,” do not precisely express the intended benefit. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling and word forms. More precise terms such as “gain practical experience” and “meet living expenses” would help explain the advantages directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using clauses with “that,” “if” and “because,” as well as a contrast paragraph. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction frequently make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “one of my cousin got” needs a plural noun and a different verb form, while “they will hire by famous organizations” lacks the passive form required. In “if our government should consider it and imposed,” the conditional structure and verb forms do not match. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, then add subordinate clauses only when you can control their grammar. Check subject–verb agreement and verb forms during revision.
