Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify both visuals and report the main user groups, correctly noting that full-time undergraduates form the largest group (44%) and academic staff the smallest (7%). However, the response gives only a limited account of the satisfaction table and contains a major data error: part-time postgraduate users are 16%, not “165.” The overview, “users are satisfied with library,” is too broad to highlight the strongest and weakest results. Staff helpfulness has the highest very-satisfied figure (95%), while journals have the highest dissatisfaction (20%); these comparisons would make the summary more informative. The response also falls one word short of the required 150-word minimum. Develop the overview and report a few accurate comparisons across the table.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about user categories, a paragraph about satisfaction, and a brief concluding overview. Sequencing markers such as “Firstly” and “Moreover” help signal the shift between visuals. However, the progression within the satisfaction paragraph is difficult to follow: it moves from opening hours and staff to journals and wi-fi without clearly comparing the results or explaining the pattern. Some linking is mechanical, and the final overview is detached from the details that precede it. Grouping the satisfaction results into positive features and areas of dissatisfaction, then using clear references such as “By contrast,” would make the organisation more coherent and the comparisons easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “categories,” “satisfaction level,” “percentages,” and “distributed,” so the reader can generally understand the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “three expressions” for satisfaction categories and “most satisfied users are at library opening hours and staff.” Spelling errors—including “iilustrate,” “tabel,” “catagories,” and “opeening”—are noticeable and reduce precision. Repetition of “users,” “satisfied,” and “categories” also limits flexibility. Aim for accurate terms such as “response options,” “satisfaction was highest for,” and “dissatisfied respondents,” and check spelling carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “while” and a concluding overview. However, control is inconsistent: the opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure (“the result … that categories in five parts”), and the second paragraph contains a faulty construction in “Two major distribution of catagories are … which is 44%.” There are also problems with articles, plurals, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “five type of users most satisfied users” and the run-on sequence about journals and wi-fi. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building complete sentences around a clear subject and verb, and use punctuation to separate comparisons; for example, “Undergraduates account for 44%, while postgraduates account for 25%.”
