The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The pie chart illustrates different groups of library users in one university, and the table provides information about their satisfaction. The figures are given in percentages.

Overall, it can be seen that the full-time undergraduates accounted the highest proportion of library users, while academic staff and distance learning have the lowest shares of using library. In the table, library users are mostly satisfied through the helpfulness of staff, whereas small number of them are not satisfied with the availability of books.

In the pie chart, the library is mostly use by full-time undergraduates accounting for 44%. This is followed by full-postgraduates recording 25%. However, both distance learning and academic staff have the smallest percentages, which are 8% and 7%, respectively.

Looking at the table, majority of the library users are highly satisfied by the helpfulness of staff which is at 95%, followed by library opening hours satisfaction at 65%. In contrary, none of them are not satisfied with the opening hours and helpfulness of staff. 20% of library users are not satisfied with availability of journals.
