Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the provided chart and table. However, the information is presented in a fragmented and often confusing manner. While you identify some key features, such as the highest and lowest categories of users, the data interpretation is frequently inaccurate or unclear (e.g., 'decreased by ninety proportion'). The summary lacks a clear, logical overview of the data, and the connection between the pie chart and the table is not well-established. To improve, focus on clearly grouping data points and ensuring that the figures cited accurately reflect the information provided in the prompt, rather than making vague or incorrect claims about trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as the awkward transition 'although, in table chart has rasi'. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because sentences are often disjointed and lack logical flow. Referencing is also problematic, making it hard for the reader to understand which data point is being discussed. To improve, use clearer linking words to connect your ideas and ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus, such as one for the pie chart and one for the table.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary range is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'illutrates', 'diffirent', 'minnor', and 'helpulness'. These errors occasionally make it difficult to understand the intended meaning. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use precise terminology for describing data, such as 'rasi' or 'proportion' used incorrectly. To improve, focus on learning standard academic vocabulary for describing charts, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', 'majority', and 'minority', and pay close attention to spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. For example, 'the highest users of categories is full time undergraduate' and 'in table chart has rasi'. Many sentences are incomplete or lack a clear subject. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms.
