Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the user categories and satisfaction levels. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with data from the chart and table. However, the report lacks a cohesive comparison between the two datasets. For instance, you could have linked the high number of undergraduates to their specific satisfaction levels. Additionally, some data points are presented as a list rather than a synthesis, which limits the analytical quality of the response. To reach a higher band, ensure you group related information more logically and focus on highlighting significant trends or contrasts rather than just listing percentages.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You used some cohesive devices like 'In contrast', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to connect ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. For example, the jump from the pie chart data to the table data could be smoother with a more explicit linking phrase. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be more sophisticated to ensure that the relationship between the two visual aids is fully integrated into the narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the information, such as 'illustrates', 'demonstrates', and 'respondent'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as '95% accounted for Helpfulness' and '81% users have satisfaction of wi-fi'. These phrases sound unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations related to data reporting, such as 'satisfaction levels' or 'the majority of users'. While your vocabulary is sufficient for the task, it lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands, and some phrasing is slightly repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as '44% users registered' (missing 'of'), 'majority of the users' (missing 'the'), and 'Half members' (should be 'Half of the members'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and hyphens. These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to articles, prepositions, and consistent punctuation, and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence forms with greater accuracy.
