Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of both the chart and the table. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data. However, there are some inaccuracies in your reporting. For instance, you mentioned 'helplessness' of staff, which is the opposite of the intended meaning, and you stated 'both with name unsatisfied users' which is unclear and grammatically confusing. To improve, ensure that you carefully proofread your data descriptions to ensure they accurately reflect the source material and that your comparisons are logically presented. You covered all parts of the task, but the clarity of the data reporting needs refinement to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'by contrast', and 'Meanwhile' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'There were. 50% of users', where the punctuation is incorrect. Additionally, the transition between the pie chart data and the table data could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two distinct data sets, which helps the reader follow your argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that punctuation does not break the flow of your sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportions', 'categories', and 'contributed to'. However, there are some significant word choice errors that impede clarity, most notably the use of 'helplessness' instead of 'helpfulness'. Furthermore, the phrase 'both with name unsatisfied users' is confusing and lacks the necessary precision for an academic report. While you attempt to use varied vocabulary, the inaccuracies in collocation and word choice prevent a higher score. Focus on using precise terminology and double-checking that your word choices accurately reflect the data provided in the prompt.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'the highest number of library users were from full-time undergraduate students' (should be 'consisted of' or 'were'), and the fragmented sentence 'There were. 50% of users satisfied...'. Punctuation errors, such as the misplaced period after 'were', also detract from the quality of the writing. To improve, work on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your sentence structures are grammatically sound. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they occur frequently enough to limit your score in this criterion.
