The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

In the cake graph and in the tabel below are reported the results of a survey of library users at university, their categories and their satisfaction.

Starting from the cake graph it is possible to notice that most of the users, around the 44%, is full-time undergraduate while the 25% are full-time postgraduate. The remaining 31% of users are, instead, distributed in this way: 16% are part-time postgraduate, 8% are distance leraning students and just the 8% is represented by the academic staff.

Furthermore, thanks to the table below in possibile it is possible to determine which services leaves users more satisfied; we can see that the majority of users are very satisfied with the library opening hours and the helpfulness of the staff, while the main issues comes from the availability of journals and the reliability of wi-fi: almoust the 20% of users are not satisfied by these services.

Finally, 90% of users are very satisfied or fairly satisfied by the availability of books and just the 10% of users are not satified.

For example, 'in possibile it is possible' is a repetitive and awkward phrasing that disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear focus will help you achieve a higher band score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'distributed', 'represented', and 'satisfaction'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and spelling errors, such as 'cake graph' (usually 'pie chart'), 'tabel', 'leraning', and 'almoust'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and ensure you proofread for basic spelling mistakes. Using more precise terminology for data presentation will also enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('most of the users... is', 'the main issues comes') and awkward phrasing ('in possibile it is possible'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure is occasionally clunky. To reach a higher band, focus on ensuring subject-verb agreement and refining your sentence construction to avoid repetitive or redundant phrasing.
