Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response successfully covers all parts of the task by summarizing both the pie chart and the table. You have identified the main features, such as the dominance of undergraduate students and the high satisfaction ratings for staff helpfulness. However, the analysis could be improved by making more direct comparisons between categories rather than just listing percentages. For example, noting that undergraduate students represent more than half of the total user base combined with other groups would provide a more analytical overview. The data is generally accurate, though the phrasing 'quarter percentage' is mathematically unclear and should be expressed as 'a quarter' or '25%'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs covering the two distinct data sets. The progression of ideas is clear. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'followed by' are used frequently, which makes the flow feel a bit formulaic. To reach a higher band, try to vary your linking words and transition phrases to connect sentences more fluidly. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the user categories from the satisfaction levels, which helps the reader follow the structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, such as 'illustrate', 'hospitality', and 'reliability'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies and informal phrasing, such as 'Now, coming to user satisfaction' and 'largest among all'. Additionally, there is a spelling error ('jpurnals') and some awkward phrasing like 'quarter percentage'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that your terminology for data description is accurate and professional throughout the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as missing articles ('Majority of library users', 'distance learning is at 8%') and inconsistent capitalization ('it is followed', 'reliability of WIFI'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for articles and basic sentence punctuation will significantly improve your accuracy.
