The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The pie chart illustrates the proportion of five different categories of users of the university's library while the table shows the data based on a survey with respect to five different resources provided by the library.

Overall, the highest proportion of library users are full-time undergraduates whereas the least accounts for the academic staff. In terms of satisfaction, the helpfulness of staff received the highest ratings, while the availability of the journal and reliability of Wi-Fi have the highest levels of dissatisfaction.

Looking at the pie chart, 44% of users are full-time undergraduates making them the largest group, followed by full time postgraduates with 25% and part-time postgraduates accounts for 16%. The number of visitors from distance learning and academic staff make the smallest proportions on the chart, at 8% and 7% respectively.

Regarding user satisfaction, 95% of respondents are very satisfied with the helpfulness of the staff, while the remaining 5% are fairly satisfied. Similarly, all users express satisfaction with the library's opening hours, with 65% being very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied. As for the availability of books, half of the respondents are very satisfied, 40% are fairly satisfied, and only 10% are dissatisfied. In contrast, the availability of journals and the reliability of Wi-Fi record the highest levels of dissatisfaction, at 20% and 19%, respectively. Meanwhile, 45% of users are very satisfied with the availability of journals and 48% with the reliability of Wi-Fi, while 35% and 33%, respectively, are fairly satisfied.
