Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the main features of both the chart and the table. You successfully identified the key categories of users and highlighted the most significant satisfaction levels. However, the analysis could be improved by making more direct comparisons between the data sets. For instance, you mention the satisfaction levels separately from the user categories, but linking these (e.g., noting if the largest group of users correlates with specific satisfaction trends) would provide a more integrated overview. The summary is accurate, but ensure that all figures are transcribed correctly to avoid minor inaccuracies in data reporting.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on different aspects of the data. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'In contrast', and 'Regarding', which help the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor mechanical errors in referencing and sentence structure. To reach a higher band, ensure that transitions between sentences are smoother and that the relationship between the data points is more explicitly stated using a wider variety of linking phrases.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportions', 'accounted for', and 'recorded'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'survery', 'usesr', 'satifscation', 'disastistied', and 'avaibility'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, focus on proofreading your work to catch these slips. Incorporating more precise academic collocations would also help elevate your score, as some phrasing remains slightly repetitive.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use comparative structures, there are consistent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The chart and table illustrates', 'Most of the library user is', 'some user is disastistied'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and pluralization (e.g., 'types of librarys users'). While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent pluralization will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
