The pie chart illustrates the proportions of different categories of library users, while the table presents the results of a survey on user satisfaction with various library services at a university.
Overall, full-time undergraduate students made up the largest proportion of library users, whereas academic staff accounted for the smallest share. In terms of satisfaction, users were generally most satisfied with the helpfulness of staff, while the availability of journals received the highest level of dissatisfaction.
Looking first at the categories of library users, full-time undergraduates represented the largest group, accounting for 44% of all users. This was followed by full-time postgraduates, who made up 25%. Part-time postgraduate students comprised 16%, while distance-learning students accounted for 8%. Academic staff formed the smallest category, at just 7%.
Regarding user satisfaction, the helpfulness of staff received the highest rating, with 95% of respondents being very satisfied and the remaining 5% being fairly satisfied. Similarly, library opening hours were viewed positively, with 65% of users very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied. Satisfaction with the availability of books was also relatively high, as 50% were very satisfied and 40% fairly satisfied, although 10% were not satisfied. By contrast, the availability of journals and the reliability of Wi-Fi attracted the highest levels of dissatisfaction, at 20% and 19%, respectively.
