Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to summarize the data but fails to provide a clear overview or a logical structure. While it mentions several categories and percentages, the information is presented in a fragmented manner, making it difficult to follow. The report lacks a clear distinction between the two parts of the data (user categories vs. satisfaction levels). Furthermore, the interpretation of the data is often inaccurate or confusing, such as the claim that 'the chart percentage gradually increase' without clear context. To improve, you should group related data points together and provide a clear summary of the main trends rather than listing figures in isolation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a logical structure. There is no clear introduction, body, or conclusion. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often misused, such as the repetitive use of 'and' to connect unrelated ideas. Paragraphing is absent or ineffective, as the text is essentially a series of run-on sentences. The progression of ideas is unclear, and the reader struggles to identify the relationship between the different data points presented. To improve, focus on using transition words like 'however', 'in contrast', or 'furthermore' to link ideas and organize your report into distinct, logical paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple terms like 'uses', 'satisfied', and 'percentage'. There are significant issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'different satisfaction parts' and 'fairy satisfied' (likely meant 'fairly'). The lack of variety in reporting verbs and descriptive language limits the ability to convey the data accurately. To achieve a higher band, you should incorporate more precise academic vocabulary, such as 'proportion', 'majority', 'fluctuate', or 'level of satisfaction', and ensure that terms are used in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are many run-on sentences, missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'In this chart shows' instead of 'This chart shows'). Punctuation is largely ignored, with a lack of full stops or commas to separate thoughts. The sentence structures are predominantly simple and often grammatically incomplete. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practice using punctuation to separate distinct ideas. Reducing the number of run-on sentences will significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
