Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. Because the response is only 94 words, the information is presented in a very truncated manner. While you identified the main categories, the lack of development and the failure to reach the required length mean the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must expand your analysis by providing more detailed comparisons between the groups and ensuring you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a full summary of the data.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is written as a single paragraph, which makes it difficult to follow. There is a lack of logical progression or clear structure. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'and' to link clauses. To improve, you should organize your report into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and specific details. Use a wider variety of linking words and transition signals to connect your ideas more effectively and improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrases like 'highest number of users' and 'little increase'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'bout' instead of 'about', 'leeds' instead of 'leads', and 'wre' instead of 'were'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which prevents you from describing the data with precision. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to statistics and trends, and ensure you check your spelling carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the highest number of users are... which leeds'), incorrect preposition usage, and run-on sentences. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and punctuation. Once you are comfortable with simple sentences, practice using complex structures like relative clauses or passive voice to describe the data more accurately.
