Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the main features of both the chart and the table. You have successfully identified the key trends, such as full-time undergraduates being the largest user group and staff being the most satisfied. However, the analysis could be improved by making more direct comparisons between the two datasets rather than treating them as separate lists. For instance, you could have noted whether the groups with the highest usage rates also reported the highest satisfaction levels. The overview is present but could be more analytical to better highlight the relationship between the data sets.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for the chart and table respectively, and a brief summary. The progression of ideas is generally clear. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive, particularly the reliance on 'which are' and 'which constitutes'. Using a wider variety of linking words and referencing techniques (e.g., 'the former', 'the latter', 'in contrast') would improve the flow and help the reader navigate the information more smoothly. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two distinct data sources.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, including terms like 'proportions', 'educational institution', and 'respectively'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'full-time graduates' (when the data refers to undergraduates) and 'academic are lowest users' (missing the noun 'staff'). Some phrasing is also slightly awkward, such as 'satisfying users which are 65%'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that nouns and adjectives are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' is often missing, e.g., 'at university', 'lowest users of Library') and subject-verb agreement. There are also some awkward relative clauses, such as 'which are 65%, 50%, and 48% respectively', which could be expressed more concisely. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on article usage and refining complex sentence construction will help improve your accuracy.
