Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have identified the main features of the data, such as the user categories and satisfaction levels. However, the response lacks a clear overview or summary statement that highlights the most significant trends. While you have reported the figures, the comparison between categories is somewhat mechanical. For instance, you list percentages without effectively grouping them to show relationships. To improve, ensure you provide a clear introductory overview of the main trends and focus on comparing the data points rather than just listing them. Some figures are also presented in a way that makes the comparison difficult to follow, such as the final sentence regarding books and wi-fi.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is repetitive and sometimes inaccurate. You frequently use 'Than' as a transition, which is incorrect in this context; 'Then' or 'Furthermore' would be more appropriate. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'this are around 8%'. The progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed, as the transition between the user categories and the satisfaction levels is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear logical flow between sentences would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'most', 'type', and 'category'. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'most very satisfy category' instead of 'most satisfied category' and 'non satisfy activity' instead of 'least satisfying aspect'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends and data, such as 'proportion', 'majority', 'minority', and 'fluctuate', and ensure that your word forms are grammatically correct.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('this are', 'the 44%... are'), incorrect use of comparatives ('most library users' instead of 'the majority of'), and awkward sentence structures. You rely mostly on simple sentences, and your attempts at more complex structures often contain errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Additionally, try to vary your sentence structure by using relative clauses or participial phrases to combine information more effectively.
