Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of both the chart and the table. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with data from the prompt. However, the report lacks precision in describing the data. For instance, you mention '65 very satisfied' without clarifying that these are percentages, which is crucial for accuracy. Additionally, some comparisons are slightly confusing, such as the mention of '10 student less' which is grammatically unclear and makes the data difficult to interpret. To improve, ensure that all units of measurement are explicitly stated and that comparisons are described with greater clarity to ensure the reader can follow the data trends without ambiguity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'However' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as starting multiple sentences with 'However' in close proximity. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the connection between the two distinct data sets (the chart and the table) could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'the latter', 'this figure') is used more effectively would enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, including terms like 'undergraduate', 'respectively', and 'availability'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'acedemic', 'lerning', 'helpfullness', and 'simillar'. These errors are noticeable but do not fully impede communication. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure accurate spelling of key terms. Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'satisfaction by helpfulness', which would be better phrased as 'satisfaction with the helpfulness of staff'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'the category of full time undergraduate students were the highest' (subject-verb agreement), 'the students who was reading' (subject-verb agreement), and '10 student less who were fairly satisfied' (unclear syntax). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors limits the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent punctuation will significantly improve the quality of your writing.
