The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The pie-chart depicts the categories of the library users and the table shows the results of the survey of library user satisfaction.

Library users can be divided in five different categories: Full-time undergraduates, Full-time postgraduates, Part-time postgraduates, Distance learning and academic staff.

Undergraduates and postgraduates used the library the most, a total of 85% of all users. Of which, full-time undergraduates, full-time postgraduates and part-time postgraduates accounted for 44%, 25% and 16% respectively. Other users include distance learners and academic staff at 8% and 7% respectively.

According to the survey of the library user satisfaction, all the users were satisfied with the helpfulness of the staff and the library opening hours; none reporting against. Ninety percent of the users were satisfied with the availability of the books, while others were unsatisfied. On the other hand, twenty percent were not satisfied with the availability of the journals.

Furthermore, reliability of wi-fi was a concern as nineteen percent of the users were unsatisfied with it.

Overall, the university students were the majority of the library users and most of them were satisfied with the library conditions.
