The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie chart and table display library users types and satisfaction at a university in percentage as a survey outcome.

Overall, five categories of library users are noticed here with mostly very satisfied ones even though there are small numbers of dissatisfied visitors as well. Most of the users are full-time undergrads whereas academic staff rank the lowest.

44% of the full-time undergraduates use this library while students who are pursuing postgrad degree make up to 25% of the total users. Part-time postgraduate students account for 16% in this category. However, distance learning covering all subjects and academic staff account for small proportion, 8% and 7% respectively.

In terms of user satisfaction of the library facilities, majority of them are highly satisfied with the staff experience accounting for 95% while the remaining 5% are fairly satisfied. However, 20% of the users are not okay with the journals availability making only 45% very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied. Furthermore, library opening hours satisfied every users even though dependability of internet and books availability had some dissatisfied customers, 19% and 10% respectively.

Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this category') is always precise will help elevate the coherence of your writing. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and supports the logical development of the response.

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'survey outcome', 'proportion', and 'dependability'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'not okay' which is too informal for an academic report, and 'satisfied every users' which contains a grammatical error. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Using a wider variety of synonyms for 'satisfied' or 'account for' would also demonstrate better lexical flexibility and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures.
