Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, including the categories of users and their satisfaction levels. However, the overview is weak; it merely describes the task rather than highlighting the most significant trends or comparisons. For instance, the report fails to explicitly contrast the high satisfaction with staff (95%) against the lower satisfaction with other aspects. While the data is presented, the analysis lacks depth, and the grouping of categories is slightly inaccurate (e.g., the percentages provided for full-time undergraduates and postgraduates are not clearly linked to the visual data). To improve, ensure the overview synthesizes the information rather than just listing it.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'On the other side' are used inappropriately to transition between the chart and the table, as this is not a contrasting relationship. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, such as 'A part from this, the number of users for satisfaction, fairly and not satisfied are almost remain similar for journals and wi-fi,' which is confusing and lacks clear logical flow. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would significantly enhance the coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'get knowledgeable book' and 'least user from the categories.' The word choice is often repetitive, and there are minor errors in collocation, such as 'satisfied from' instead of 'satisfied with.' While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the student relies on basic descriptors. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to data reporting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'there are four types of categories are given' and 'the number of users... are almost remain similar.' Punctuation is also problematic, with unnecessary commas frequently interrupting the flow of sentences (e.g., 'The given pai chart illustrates, the different types of users, that are using...'). While the student attempts some complex structures, these are often marred by errors. A focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
