Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you have identified some main features, the analysis is superficial and lacks the necessary detail to fully address the prompt. For instance, you mention that full-time undergraduates are the 'peak' but fail to provide the specific data points or percentages from the chart to support your claims. Furthermore, the description of the table is vague; you state that there are 'zero users who are not satisfied,' but you do not explain the context of the satisfaction levels across the different categories. To improve, ensure you include specific data and provide a more comprehensive overview of all categories presented in the visual data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the ideas within the paragraphs are disjointed and difficult to follow. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes misused, such as 'In sum up' and 'On the other hand,' which do not logically connect the preceding and following sentences. The referencing is also unclear; for example, the phrase 'rest of the three level is than others two' is grammatically confusing and makes it hard to understand which data points you are comparing. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would greatly enhance the readability of your report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'highest,' 'lowest,' and 'users' throughout the text. There is a lack of variety in how you describe trends or data comparisons. Additionally, there are errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'give the accounts for helpfulness' and 'go in to full-time undergraduate,' which impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary to describe data, such as 'proportion,' 'constitute,' 'significant,' or 'marginal,' and ensure that your word choices are contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often make the meaning unclear. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'undergraduate students shares,' 'there is zero users') and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary complexity expected at this level. Punctuation is also inconsistent, and the misuse of prepositions makes several sentences difficult to interpret. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses or comparative forms to add variety and accuracy to your writing.
