Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the main features of both the chart and the table. You successfully identified the highest and lowest categories and made relevant comparisons, such as noting the similar percentages for academic staff and distance learners. However, the analysis of the table could be more precise; for instance, you mention '95% are satisfied with their service' as the top item, but you do not clearly distinguish between 'very satisfied' and 'satisfied' categories, which is a key feature of the data. To improve, ensure you explicitly group data points to highlight trends rather than just listing figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The progression of ideas is generally clear. You use some cohesive devices like 'While', 'Whereas', and 'Following that', which help link sentences. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing could be smoother. For example, the phrase 'making it top of the list among others' is a bit repetitive given you used similar phrasing in the previous paragraph. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'illustrate', 'findings', and 'respectively'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'using more library than' is grammatically awkward; 'using the library more frequently than' would be more natural. Additionally, 'mark it very satisfied' is not standard usage; 'rated it as very satisfied' would be more appropriate. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing when describing data trends.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors. For instance, 'also stand at top' lacks an article, and 'availability of books and the journals has shown' contains a subject-verb agreement error (should be 'have shown'). There are also minor punctuation and phrasing issues, such as 'almost similar kind of satisfaction rate'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement.
